Castiel got a reaction from youlots in Jose Mourinho threadManagers have been moaning about this in England for years, and I think they have a point. For one, we have an extra cup compared everyone else (League Cup). Other leagues also get a winter break, while we pile on the games. By the time the CL knockouts come about things start getting really jammed if you're still involved in all competitions, with April and May often getting ridiculous as it will for United this year. It'd be nice if the FA thought about scheduling more games in the slower period before Christmas to lighten the load at the business end of the season. Maybe then PL clubs wouldn't be so consistently disappointing in the European cups.

Castiel got a reaction from Bobbywoodhogan in Jose Mourinho threadIf we win all our games up to and including United away, we'd have 81 points. Not enough to win the title unfortunately unless Spurs and City go on an unprecedented losing streak.

Castiel reacted to Jezz in Jose Mourinho threadHe's looked miserable for a few years now. I don't know what went on at Real Madrid exactly, but something changed from his experience there. He's now bitter and twisted and no longer the infectious and charismatic man that we became accustomed to knowing in his first stint.
The fact that he left such an indelible mark on the club in his first stint is the reason why I can never hate him, despite the recent banter between him and the club and everything that went on in the latter stages of his second stint and the way he's began to have some kind of rapport with United, to the detriment of his affection of our club.
Deep down, I think we all wanted the old Mourinho to return after a turbulent period with Real Madrid, but it seems like his attitude since 2010 has become the norm rather than an aberration.
He still did much good for the club in his second stint as well which often becomes forgotten such as winning the title in 2015 and actually making us compete for titles again after a period of wilderness in 2011-2013, but understandably, memories of last season are still fresh in people's minds and the circumstances behind his departure were heartbreaking for everyone involved.
I regard Mourinho's best years as manager as being between 2003-2010, when he was ahead of the pack and had everything from tactics, charisma and fantastic man-management skills where players would literally run through a brick wall for him. It's a shame we couldn't keep him on for longer in 2007, but Porto, us and Inter Milan enjoyed the best years of what he offered in that time.
In some ways, Conte heavily reminds me of Jose from his first stint which is a huge benefit for the club's current standing.

Castiel reacted to KrazyTea in Cesc FabregasI can honestly say I was pretty blah when he got announced, actually I was in the wtf category. That being said I'm forgiving his past allegiances as he is making me a fan!
Here is a low quality video of all of Senor Cuatro's touches on Monday.

Castiel reacted to Amputechture in Torres - The "Groundhog Day" ThreadFor me, his best performance for us by some distance has to be against City at the Bridge last season. That 15 minute period toward the end of the first half was truly world class. No surprise it happened under Mourinho by the way.

Castiel reacted to just in Torres - The "Groundhog Day" ThreadI think he had two great moments and one great game.
The goal against Barca wasn't a winning goal but it really was a deciding, kill off the opposition goal in the most backs to the wall tense game you will ever see.
The Europa League goal against Benfica, a second rate competition agreed, but still an important win and an important goal
But his best all round display IMO was the home game against City last season. He had the usual bad miss early on but put that aside to lead the line with vigour and purpose and got the winner right at the end as reward for chasing a seemingly lost cause. If only he could have produced more performances like that this thread wouldn't exist.

Castiel reacted in The John Terry Appreciation ThreadWe will not see another CB like him for us again in our lifetime IMO.
A true leader, a guy who goes in head first and worries about the results after the ball is cleared.
I love JT, I can't imagine us without him now (I was like that with Wise too), hope he stays for another season at least because he is sheer class.
He's won it all with Chelsea and will forever be an inspirational figure in this clubs history.
Captain, Leader, Legend.....and WINNER.

Castiel reacted to SydneyChelsea in Cesc FabregasI'll write a little more in detail on this later but Cesc offers the same attacking output as Mata with a hardened, cynical edge. Fabregas would absolutely dive or foul to get three points if he needed to and makes no apologies for needling his opponents. The same attitude is evident in Costa.
I think Mourinho is simply attracted to player who share his results-first mentality and we begin to see why he preferred the likes of Fabregas over Mata.
it's not an attitude I agree with or particularly want at Chelsea but as long as it wins trophies no one will complain.
