Money spent on a stadium does not count towards FFP, (if that matters much anymore after the Citeh ruling), it is just a dent in the owners pocket. It would actually be a wise time to invest, given all the opportunities for construction, loan rates, etc, as a result of COVID-19. Much as our transfer window after a ban has turned into a really good window for us, not building a new stadium early could turn into a really wise business opportunity.

Some people sh*t on signing a lad named Cahill in January 2012 as they believed it wasn't a position of need and that he wasn't good enough anyway. The lad turned out to be quite a wise purchase at £7 probably one of the best deals we had. Nowadays £20 odd million on a giant goalkeeper could be a similar purchase. I trust Cech and it would be great for this monster to be coached by another giant. I agree and he is a Mourinho player, his pace and energy are just what he likes. Not sure how Griezmann fits in a starting XI though, he really only plays centrally. I'm a lot calmer about it and winning the Premier League this year was very important considering our drought but this team has bigger ambitions. Winning the CL was a far greater. If I had to pick I would want to win the CL again myself. This team is destined for higher things though and a double between the two is most like what is needed to cement our legacy in the pantheon.
