We have to win this game, we must go forward in this competition as well.

Some players need a rest before Liverpool game, but some of them need to gain a better form and get ready before Liverpool.

I'd like to see this starting line:

-------------------------- Begovic ---------------------

------- Zouma ----------- Terry ---------- Ake --------------

Aina ---------- Fabregas -------- Chalobah ------- Marcos Alonso

------------- Hazard ------------------ Loftus-Cheek -------------

-------------------------- Batshuayi ------------------------------

COME ON CHELS!!!

I think Willian needs to start in this game as well!  Hazard should definitely start!  We need him sharp and he has been just flying under the radar for a while.  We need a more direct and goal seeking Hazard

Begovic

Dave - Terry - Zouma

Ivanovic - Fabregas - Chalobah - Ake

Willian - RLC

Michy B

Wouldn't mind seeing Kenedy come off the bench, not sure if he is actually available for selection or maybe Conte is still assessing him to see if he wants to send him back out on loan.

Don't think there's any reason why a team of mostly 2nd string shouldn't win this game comfortably.

Also, I hope this game won't be too difficult for @Nibs to watch what with the return of Josh McEachran, I'm sure he's probably still clinging to the hope deep down he'll one day fulfil his potential and return to Chelsea.

                   Begovic
           Zouma -- JT -- Ake
Aina -- Chalobah -- Cesc -- Kenedy
               Pedro -- RLC
                     Bats

West London derby so no doubt Brentford will be up for it, we should have enough quality to win comfortably. If we didn't have Liverpool away next Tue I'd hope for a strong lineup. Big game for Bats and RLC (assuming both start), against Peterborough and Bristol Rovers it could be argued they 'met expectation', against Championship opposition it's a good opportunity for them to make a statement.

This match is a good opportunity to get some confidence into the players who are underperforming at the moment. I'd probably opt for:

Courtois

Azpillicueta--Terry--Cahill

Moses--Fabregas--Kante--Alonso

Willian--Costa--Pedro

Give Eden a well earned rest.

Lots of people I would want to see in this game for different reasons, and I'd rest Azpi, Luiz, Cahill, Moses, Alonso, Kante, Pedro and Costa so there are hopefully plenty of places up for grabs.

I'd go with

               Begovic
         Zouma - JT - Ake
 Willian - Fab - Chalobah - Aina/Ivan
      Hazard - Bats - RLC

I think Hazard needs a goal so I would give him 60 minutes then bring on someone like Musonda.

I would like to see Willian at RWB/RM to see if we have this as an option we should be outplaying Brentford so it will be more going forward than backwards I also think starting runs from a bit deeper and having more time to think/see whats in front of you might help him, in the same way it has helped Moses.

hazard has looked off the pace and i think he needs a rest. He is a luxury player and shd be protected when showing signs off fatigue or we might end up with the hazard of last season who got burnt out by mourinho. will go for

              bergovi

     zouma     terry    Ake

bane    fab  chalobah   Pedro

    willian   Batshuayi   RLC

We shouldn't underestimate Brentford but even so there now is a good change to give some players like Eden a well needed rest. I think that the replacements to the regular starting eleven should be ones who have / might have a future with the Club (Chalubah, Loftus-Cheek, Ake) not the ones like Ivanovic who's days unfortunately IMO are over (in Chelsea anyway).

I'd put Cesc to starting squad to give him playing time to prepare him to start against Pool as well.

Big week coming up. First this game, then Liverpool in midweek, then arsenal.

Our record against the big boys is hit and miss so far. 3 wins, 3 losses. Will that distract us from this game? How will our season look in 2 weeks time?

I expect to see a lot of changes just with Peterboro game, still have enough talent to come in and do a job

Dippers have Wolves at crapfield so you know Klopp will rest his entire 1st 11 in preparation for Tuesday's game

with Conte as manager cant see us being out of the cup or without picking up any points when leaving the dole capital of the UK next Tues night

Here are the crystal ball predictions for the Brentford match:

Chelsea (4-1-4-1): Courtois; Moses, Azpilicueta, Aké, Alonso; Pedro, Mati?, N. Chalobah (c), Willian; Hazard
Subs: Begovi?, Aina, Kane, Terry, Davey, Costa, Solanke

Prediction: Chelsea 1-0 Brentford (Hazard)

A bit too strong a team for this one, particularly as the Liverpool game is not far away. Conte goes back to 4-1-4-1 and has a youthful bench. Nathaniel Chalobah once again captains from midfield. Hazard scores the winner.

Come on, Blues!

This will be a chance to give some of our fringe players a match sharpness.

Begovic

Zouma Terry Ake

Ivan Chalobah Fabregas Pedro

Willian Batman Loftus- cheek

Conte seems to have ingeniously made up for it by only starting ten players.

Ha ha, well spotted. Edited team below. I'm used to there being Pedro after Alonso so I forgot to include the holding midfielder.

Chelsea (4-1-4-1): Courtois; Moses, Azpilicueta, Aké, Alonso; Fábregas; Pedro, Mati?, N. Chalobah (c), Willian; Hazard
Subs: Begovi?, Aina, Kane, Terry, Davey, Costa, Solanke

Prediction: Chelsea 1-0 Brentford (Hazard)

Can't see Moses or Alonso playing this game....they will be rested for the Liverpool game

Begovic
Zouma
Terry (C)
Ake
Ivan
Chalobah
Fabregas
Kenedy
Willian
Batman
Loftus Cheek

Subs:
Eduardo
Aina
Kante
Musonda
Pedro
Solanke
Costa

Stick or twist time for Kenedy, after a bright season, he's had half a season of doing nothing, play him or loan him, otherwise, what's the point?
