Posted February 14, 200916 yr http://www.zshare.net/video/555095938a82aa2b/ ... now I know this was only one match with Spurs, but let's not kid ourselves that he wasn't doing this week in, week out at Wigan also. I think, based on the admittedly short time we've seen him, it'd be hard to dispute he's by far the best defensive midfielder in the league; better than that cretin Mascherano, and better than glass-man Hargreaves also. I'm not even going to compare him to Mikel because it'd just be embarrasing. The only thing Mikel has over this guy is age; Palacios is stronger, quicker, far more intelligent, a superb tackler and is very creative, which leads me to my next question... At £16m this guy seems like an absolute bargain, I know money is tight at the bridge now, but with the sales of SWP, Bridge and one or two others, would it really of been such a bad idea to get in another central midfielder? Especially with Ballack and Deco looking completely past it recently. I dunno... I know we can't buy every decent player going, I wouldn't expect that at all, but a player this good doesn't become available for as little as £16m very often, IMO. With that in mind, how long before Man Utd launch a £40m bid for the lad? :(
February 14, 200916 yr Author ... he's still a complete c**t for leaving Wigan to join Spurs though. Why do that? Everyone at Wigan absolutely loved him, and they're currently sitting in a very respectable 7th in the league, Tottenham on the other hand are only two points from relegation. Sigh.
February 14, 200916 yr You know talking to yourself is the first sign of madness? :( i agree with blizeh, but not blizeh. blizeh knows exactly what hes talking about, but blizeh is talking rubbish......im confused now...
February 14, 200916 yr blize, dont let these two give you stick for posts that make you look crazy  I agree that Palacios looks the real deal, and though I didnt see it, I heard he was an absolute rock in the Norf London derby. It must kill the gooners that, allegedly, Wenger is the one who recommended him to Bruce who got him on a pittance. Now, they have Denielson and Diaby anchoring their midfield. Oops I think if we had signed him it would have been a mistake. He might be better than Mikel, but it would do nothing for his development if we gave up on him already. But I do see him making "that move" away from Spurs when they inevitably stall in their eternal quest for the CL. Hopefully it isnt to Man U, but I know their fans long for that "destroyer" they havent had since Keane was in his prime. Alot of them thought Essien was the man to do just that. Thank god we didnt lose out on him.
February 15, 200916 yr he's not that good, he's not really a defensive midfielder, essien is a similar, albeit far superior player, and he's not in mascherano's league as a defensive midfielder. we don't need a player of his type, nor his quality.
