Im trying to connect to XBox live , bought router today but not working. Ive been told i need to get a Wep key to connect.

The wireless router we use here is a Sweex but i dont know where to find the Wep key , im completely confused.

Anybody help .

Silly question maybe, but did you buy the wireless adapter for the Xbox 360?

Is the WEP not on a label on the bottom of the modem?

do you not set the WEP key yourself when you set up the network (kinda like a password)

the wep key is one you choose, you need to enable wireless security first. can you get access to the router? its usually done by entering http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 and going into the settings. the wep keycan be anything you want it to be and will need entering on the xbox when setting up the network. you may also need to forward some ports, this site will help http://www.portforward.com/english/routers...routerindex.htm.

Yeah, the 192.168.0.1 is the one that works for mine, usually your asked for a password.. the password is always password, and the username is admin. (It SHOULD be)

Then you click on wireless settings down the left hand side, and at the bottom will be 4 codes, each with your WEP key

Agreed. I've played on both, and the xbox I feel is much mroe impressive and has better value for money.
