To be honest if Guus was staying i wouldn't mind getting him, he looks like another Drogba in terms of managerial influence. I can see him thriving under Guus Hiddink and playing with better players around him will make him a better player. I wanted him when we had Scolari and i believe he would be a cracking signing if Guus was still with us.

I buy that Pavlyuchenko hasn't really got a fair shake a Tottenham this season. I don't buy that he's somehow a world-class striker. I feel like he's an every game Premier league player....for Bolton...or some team like that.

Can't see how he is up to Chelsea standards. However, if Guus actually believes that, I reckon there must be some truth to it.

Guus could make him a good player. Guus can do anything. Guus even taught Malouda how to cross a ball so we can score.

Exactly!!! If Guus says he's a good player...he must be. However:

Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink dismisses speculation linking the club with Valencia's David Villa and Roman Pavlyuchenko.

"I did not give any comment about Pavlyuchenko," said Hiddink. "I don't give any comment on players with other clubs.

Asked if the club were interested in Villa, Hiddink said: "No, there is no indication of that." (Press Association)

NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!

Awful striker, couldn't hit a barn door!

Disagree. I don't think his ability is questionable. What is questionable is his work rate. I see him as the Russian Berbatov. Technically very good and capable of brilliance however bloody lazy and disappears for extended periods of matches. For those reasons I wouldn't want him.

guy got lucky when pogrebnyak got his injury just before the euros... I don't think there is anything remarkable about his technique or quality at all. berbatov is in another league when it comes to touch, vision, passing etc etc.

I agree though that he can be bloody lazy, and if I was honest I'd say while he would improve with a second season I don't see anything special about him whatsoever.
