These new right back rumours won't go away...............................

Maicon Leaving Inter For Chelsea Is 'Very Probable' - Italian Journalist

This will be a decisive week for the Brazilian's future, with a move to London looking far from unlikely...

Inter defender Maicon has a long week ahead, in which he will finally take a decision about his future - i.e. whether or not he will stay at San Siro.

At the moment, the choices are two: either he remains at Inter or he joins Chelsea, with the latter being the favourites, according to journalist and transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla.

"It's very probable that Maicon goes to Chelsea," declared the journalist to Sportitalia.

"It will be the week of the interweaving with Chelsea. Inter should be led to accept by having Deco and Ricardo Carvalho added in the negotiation.

"It will also be the week of [Marko] Arnautovic's confirmation, then Inter will concentrate on the minor negotiations, like the transfer of [Patrick] Vieira to Paris Saint-Germain."

Maicon has given mixed signals over the past few days, declaring that he wants to leave the club but saying at the same time that he is happy in Milan.

Dont think we should be even looking for a new rightback with the many we already have at the club. But if Bosingwa is going to be used as a make-weight in the Ribery deal Maicon looks like a descent replacement. Ferreira, Bolletti or Ivanovic are good cover but Bosingwa will need replacing as first choice.

As we have disscussed on here already Bos can only be leaving if we are getting Ribery.

Watched Maicon in confederations cup, kept Alves out the team. Looked everything you'd expect from a Brazilian, good on the ball, first touch, cross, shot etc. Did'nt see enough of him defending to comment, but he's been playing in Italy and has everything needed to defend, he's big, strong and quick so if Bosingwa is leaving(+Ribery) we could do worse(Glen Johnson).

Contrary to what many people think Goal.com can be a useful link to stories as long as you recognise where they are getting their stories from. All they are effectively doing is passing on info which has emanated from around the world in the media and providing you know which of those is fairly credible gives you an indication as to the level of truth on a story.

Interestingly, Bayern have reitterated their interest in Bosingwa. They claim to still be interested, but are put off by our asking price. With RIbery saying its "Real or nothing" then I don't think we are using Bosigwa as any type of bargaining chip.

If we were after Johno, and he has gone to the scallies, and Bossie is still being chased by Bayern I hope to God we do not let Bosingwa go. Maicon is a great player, and I admit I didn't get to see too much of the Serie A last season, but I'd much rather we just stick with what we have. A solid enough RB who has been with the team for a year now.
