Earlier this summer Fayette Pinkney former member of the Three Degrees died, she was 61. Being a bit of a soul fan I can still vividly remember seeing the Three Degrees in 1973. It was in one of those 70s smooth country clubs where there were tables up front and the girls done a number where they came off stage sitting on these punters' laps and singing all up close. I was at the back in the bar, poor man's ticket in those days. With today's wireless mics it could have been a different story.

Thanks for that, Tim W. I didn't even know she'd died. As soon as I saw the thread title, the song came rushing into my head.

Then straight after it came this one by the Shirelles, which some stations refused to play because of its "suggestiveness". Hard to believe nowadays!

God bless.

I watched The Three degrees on Paignton peir in 88, believe it or not they were supporting the main act Cannon and Ball.
