FIFA 10

Featured Replies

downloaded the demo and was playing as chicago v chelsea.

we start with mikel as DM in the diamond. after about 70 mins they brought mikel off for ballack and the crowd let out this massive cheer lol

then ballack dives in and gets a booking. martin tyler comes out with "they'll be fearful of him getting a second booking now, he's just so important to them"

haha brilliant :weakest:

seems like it could be a great game

yea you seem to be able to

dribbling takes a bit of getting used to though. there's a lot of jostling for the ball now and you seem to get pushed off it easier

quick passing seems to be the way to play this one

it's not massively different but it does take a bit of getting used to. the dribbling is the main change

Just played the demo, I'm usually a PES man and I've got to say the FIFA demo impressed me so much I will probably be changing allegiances this season.

Got to say though I was struck by how low Cech was rated, he's something like mid 60s, is that par for the course for goalkeepers in FIFA or what? Also I don't like the fact that Rooney beats Lamps so easily in the intro video. ;)

That has to be a glitch. He's usully high 80s...

yea i think it's a glitch. he plays like high 80s and he will be about 88 i reckon

He ruddy well better be. :D

Just hammered Bayern 5-0 (Zhirkov scored two beauties) and Andy Grey promptly had a dig about Chelsea not being used to scoring so many. :smiley_crazy:

Not that I'm shallow or anything, but.

Apparently Frank is on the cover of FIFA 10, and the girly haired woman who plays every other game for the Scousers is on the cover of PES (along with Chelsea not being licensed). I think I may go FIFA 10 out of principle...

pes10 is utter sh*t anyway. fifa is just so much more advanced. you could play pes10 with a stick and 2 buttons. it's really similar to virtua striker lol

i think your being nice to PES calling it utter sh*te, its nowhere near as good as that. how the hell can they take a much superior game in the old PES games and let FIFA get so far ahead. theyve ruined PES now by trying to make it more arcadey instead of stcking to what they did best.

I've never liked the PES games anyway. I bought the first ever PES and that was okay, but not a patch on the first FIFA I bought (2002) and I've never looked back. I was excited about FIFA 09 last season, and this season I'm much more excited for it, because of the amount of new stuff they've put in it. Should be a belter

i used to prefer PES over FIFA simply because it wasnt as arcadey and needed a bit of skill and patience to master it. now though FIFA is miles ahead of PES mainly because of the efforts to make it playable by gamers with any skill level.

For years FIFA really was inferior. I used to prefer FIFA, but then tried PES and saw how much better PES was at that moment. The only thing that PES didn't have was all the real stadiums, teams and players and to me the gameplay and AI was more important than the names. Even if it was extra work to change some of the team/player/stadium names in the older PES versions, the gameplay and AI was just so much better that it was well worth it. Some years ago FIFA's AI was just laughable and the players felt like they were running ankle deep in tar. Last year I was surprised that FIFA had improved so much. Especially as FIFA 2006 was so poor. At the moment FIFA seems like the better game, but for years there was a good reason why many preferred PES.

Where did the "lol" go from the topic title?

Anyway, do you guys reckon it will be worth the the upgrade on PS2? Yeah, I'm still stuck on it. Probably getting hold of a new console after I am one with my Board examinations in March.

Not really. I'm stuck with a PS2 as well, and haven't moved on from PES6. I've just updated all the names, transfers and badges constantly for the last 3 years. I've played all the latest FIFA's and Pro's on the PS2 and none of them are real improvements, and none of them have even changed really. PES6 is still where it's at.

i could see why people preferred pro evo before even though i didn't myself but now there is no comparison. fifa 09 was by far and away the best football game made and fifa 10 is another improvement

and yea the ps3 is fantastic. def worth the upgrade is you have a spare £250

That wasn't what he was asking, I don't think. I believe he was asking if it is worth upgrading to FIFA 10 on the PS2... to which the answer should be no.

  • Author

oh right, well the answer should be definitely lol

i've played the demo and it is great, and if 09 is anything to go by the full version will be much better than the demo

I better check out FIFA 10 then. I was really surprised when I played FIFA 09 last year. We had played different versions of PES with my mate for years and I remember when he had borrowed FIFA 06 and we decided to give it a go as we had been playing FIFA since the late '90s up until 2002 or 2003, but I think we played only one or two matches before we changed back to PES. It was THAT bad. So it was a huge surprise when he told me he had bought FIFA 09 and said it's the best football game and I was even more surprised when I found myself agreeing with him.

You have a PS3, right? So I'm assuming you played the PS3 version?

FIFA don't bother improving the versions for the last generation of consoles... much like PC versions. That's why I don't think it's worth getting. He should just save up and wait until he gets a new console.

  • Author

yea i've not played the ps2 version for a while

if that's the case then you would be better waiting till you get your new console before getting it
