Posted October 2, 200915 yr And anybody else who thinks Kerry Dixon is a legend. He will be in the megastore before the scouse game doing a book signing.
October 2, 200915 yr If anyone goes to meet him, give him the forum web address shedend.com, tell him a lot of members on here idolised him and it would be great if he called by and had chat with us all.
October 2, 200915 yr Cheers for the heads up Gazza. It is a nightmare getting into the megastore on any matchday. With King Kerry holding court I would imagine it will be doubly packed tomorrow.
October 2, 200915 yr Well I have got 5 bellies............ And everyone one of them a joy to behold, my love.
October 2, 200915 yr Author Back on topic, Kerry will be signing between noon and 2pm (Sunday Marko so don't go tomorrow)
October 2, 200915 yr Author Where have you been going for a pre-match beer this season Geez? Working mens club behind the So bar. Got a half season ticket cos it's closing down soon due to a building project. I believe they're gonna build a load of flats but still have the club in the basement when completed.
October 3, 200915 yr Working mens club behind the So bar. Got a half season ticket cos it's closing down soon due to a building project. Always been my favourite place for a pre-match drink. Also the best place to pick up a spare ticket at cover price if you need one. Sorry to hear its days are numbered, death of a real Chelsea institution.
October 3, 200915 yr The rumour about that place has been doing the rounds for 2 seasons now, haqs it finally been confirmed then?
October 3, 200915 yr Author The rumour about that place has been doing the rounds for 2 seasons now, haqs it finally been confirmed then? Yep. The staff were told on the eve of the first home game of the season. Most of them didn't turn up for work the next day which meant there was only one member of bar staff for the first two hours. When I bought the season ticket for the place that's when they officially confirmed to the punters they were only selling half season tickets. Guess the development planning permission finally went through.
October 3, 200915 yr Must say I've been in the CIU possibly half a dozen times over the years and didn't like the place at all. Too enclosed and cramped for me. I think there is another one on the King's Road, (not far from The Imperial on the opposite of the road), but I have never been in there myself. Anyone know if it's still there and what it's like on matchdays? We've been drinking either in the Prince of Teck at Earls Court or The Tournament in West Brompton for a couple of seasons now. Can get a beer without standing at the bar for twenty minutes and there's a great cafe practically next door to the Teck. Wouldn't recommend the Teck on Sunday though as the boozers outside Earls Court station usually get taken over by the mousers when we play them. Will be in The Maltsers after the game Geez if you fancy popping by for a pint?
October 3, 200915 yr Author After the game is out I'm afraid. Gotta pick up the muvver-in-law as she's staying with us all next week (guess who will be working late every night).
