Going to Bolton

Good day noam. The ground is pretty far away from the town centre, so you're best getting into local boozers near the ground.

The obvious ones are Scotts Bar and Brannigans, which are in between the ground and the train station. Next to a Holiday Inn, or similar hotel, as well. Cannae miss em.

Cheers Verbal, much appreciated. Crossing the fingers that we play like we did at the weekend.

Last time I was at the Reebok is was right beside something that appeared to be a paper manufacturing company (i.e. sh*t tickets rather than writing paper!) and there was little else around it. Is that still the case?

:D Not a glowing endorsement is it!!

I think when I was there I went to a pub very near the roundabout on that map you link to where the A6027 joins Chorley New Road. It was pretty iffy but served beer which was pretty much all I was looking for at the time - simple men, simple needs!!

Afternoon all, just registered on the forum and wanted to check whether anyone else is travelling up to Bolton on the 31st - or has any good boozer tips for a swift couple before the match.

Cheers

hello da chomsky !!! , its looking like the beehive or bromilow arms .. pubs and bars in that shopping centre ...have to be home fans only... and have to produce season tickets !! :-) D.Y.

Might well be - there are a few factory things around the ground but to be honest never paid attention to their produce!

It might be home fans only at Scotts...cannae be too sure. however, I went to a friendly vs Hibs in pre season and away fans were definitely allowed into the pub next to scotts. Either way as has already been pointed out, Beehive is another option.

If you get desperate, just go to Tescos and loiter around outside, drinking cans of strongbow like an untolerable youth.

Good to hear from you Yorkie Boy! Been looking for the pub used in Phoenix Nights, but it's a bit out of the way, and I've got a feeling it might make the Fulham Legion look like bloody Fabric :)

Lads just wondering can anyone help me.

I'm heading over from Dublin getting the Eurolines to Manchester like I did for Wigan away. I had a ticket that day but dont have one for Bolton. I seem to remember a good few Chlelsea lads outside the away end in Wigan trying to get rid of tickets from what I can remember I wasnt paying to much attention as I had a ticket. :) Just wondering will it be easy to get a ticket on Saturday outside the South Stand. Its my first time without a ticket for an away game as I missed the deadline. :(

Does anyone know where the best place to park is?

The ground is situated next to a big shopping complex, so a lot of fans generally park there, or in the big car park outside the ground

If not, there are a load of little car parks dotted nearby. Your best chance is to head to a pub called barnstomers, on the other side of the main road to the stadium.

If you can't get on the car park there, there are another two or three next to it. Parking around here usually ensures you miss most of the traffic too. Which is nice.
