bad news. ivanovic is a decent RB too, but without Bos and Ashley we will even have less wing-play.

its a big blow, luckily we seem to0 have ample cover at right back with ivan paulo and belletti

but i maybe can see a left back coming in, in january

Paulo?? Ivanovic is much better!

At being a centre back maybe, but certainly not as being a right back.

Paulo is after dangerous injury, I think that we should sell him...

With that logic we should have sold Cech a few years ago. ;)

Maybe we are looking to offload Joey Cole as we speak too...

Paulo is poor. He is the worst our player...

Did you keep in mind that Kalou is actually also a Chelsea player ?

Dont be so harsh with Paulo. Not many players would have stayed at Chelsea for such a long time, if they dont get regular first team football.

Agreed. Ivan CAN be a good right back but he is as likely to get caught massively out of position as he is to have a fine game and that kind of inconsistency is not good enough for a title challenging side. He is best in the centre and that is where his focus should be. it is great that he can be a utility right back but he shouldn't be one on a week in week out basis.

It should be between Ferreira and Belletti with Paulo being my choice.

agree.

btw:

i hate those international breaks... ;)

That would be Turnbull. Ferreira is our best defensive rightback.

Turnbull is the third choice goalkeeper so we can not expect miracles from him ...

Forget expectations, you said Paulo is our worst player and I disagree. Expectations or no expectations, I think Turnbull is still the worst player in the current first team. Paulo is a Portuguese international, but I haven't seen Turnbull in the English squad(and it's not like there are that many world class English keepers out there).

Depends who we are playing.

Against the smaller sides whom defending is less of an issue, i'd prefer Belletti (over Ferreira)

I like Ivanovich though and think his done pretty well for us so far (particularly in the Manc game)

Turnbull was one of the best Boro players in last season.

Fair point Qaz

I would probably go with Ferreira in the games where we needed a more defensive full back and opt for Ivanovic when playing the lesser teams. This would be to ensure Ivanovic got enough playing time and didn't start getting itchy feet.

Carvalho's time at the highest level is limited now and we soon need to decide whether Terry is to be partnered by Alex or Ivanovic. Based on form over their Chelsea careers I think Alex has to get the nod at the moment.

No wonder they were relegated... ;)

Sorry...
That was a bit harsh, but I couldn't resist.
