This lad deserves his own thread.

Just had a part to play in the goal for Reading against Liverpool with a nice ball into the far post, and he's looked very bright in this match in general, and put in a few good tackles so far.

This is also the lad that kept Kieron Gibbs out of the Norwich side - the lad has a bright future for sure, and could be brilliant backup for Ash in the future, also freeing up Zhirkov to play in a more forward role.

The lads got a superb delivery and looks like he could be the successor to Ashley

He's getting very good reviews on the BBC site.

i thought he looked very solid defensively but also looked pretty impressive going forward. he had one moment where he was boxed in by two yet still managed to get a cross in. nicely done mister Bertrand.

I think he should be Ashley Coles long term successor.

I was impressed with Ryan Bertrand's performance against Liverpool. Very good going forward but a little naive defensively. Kuyt exposed him on a couple of occasions. Needs to improve his sense of position and that will come with further experience. No doubt, the lad has got potential. I suggest loaning him out to a Premier club next season!
