fester Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 From The Times Carlo Ancelotti is considering a move for Vincenzo Iaquinta, the Juventus and Italy forward. The 30-year-old is recovering from a serious knee injury and Chelsea will monitor his fitness before deciding whether to make a move before the end of the transfer window. Juventus have a surfeit of strikers and Chelsea may test their resolve with an £8 million offer. The forward has played only six matches this season, in large part because of the injury suffered in October. Ancelotti has identified Iaquinta because of his strength, pace and versatility, which he believes would be well suited to Chelsea and the demands of the Barclays Premier League.
PloKoon13 Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 The 30-year-old is recovering from a serious knee injury He's good, but I think this should be a pretty good giveaway as to whether or not we should sign the lad.
Spiller86 Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 He's good, but I think this should be a pretty good giveaway as to whether or not we should sign the lad. Too true. Despite the quality goal he scored at the Olimpico against us last season, we hardly have a need for a guy recovering from knee surgery, we're still battling hard to get Joey right. Also is it just me or are the journo's just linking us with every reasonably priced Italian based striker?
Orlando Chelski Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 (edited) Way To old. and not that many goals in him. no thanks. Edited January 7, 2010 by Orlando Chelski
geezer Posted January 7, 2010 Posted January 7, 2010 The Man Utd supporting Editor's office somewhere in Fleet Street: "We need to disrupt Chelsea's season so my beloved SAF can win the title. Then we will have more titles than those damned scousers" "Shall I make up a story or two sir?" "Good idea. Find the names of players who are either old, crap, injured or all three and link with the club. Fans will look at the aged squad Ancewotshisname had at AC, put two and two together and believe every word of it. They fall for it every time" "On it right away sir. Shall I bring up some 'Jose coming back to England stories too?" "BRILLIANT"

Wenger targeting a 19 year old, 6ft.8in. striker, Lucine Traore, who plays for CFR Ciuj 2. Fergie to splash 40 million quid on the Marsielle winger, Hatem Ben Arta. 3. Mancini to sign an old ex-Arsenal midfielder, Patrick Vieira. 4. Spurs to sign Victor Moss of Crystal Palace 5, To top it all - Chelsea to sign the 30 year old Juventus striker, Iaquinta and Roma linked with Yuri Zhirkov!
