Isn't this the same ref that put France in the World Cup?

It is laughable. It is not defendable from the referee and it is difficult to understand.

Is that Henry's handball your speaking of Arsene?

I tell you whats new :) This time really he had something to complain about. Not talking about the goal itself but the not given penalty started the counter attack for Porto (from which they scored).

Dont wanna know how furious we all would have been if the same happened to us.

Anyone got a link to Whinger complaining about Graham Poll letting Henry take a quick free kick against us at the Library a few seasons ago, even after he'd told Eidur to retire 10 yards, which you don't have to do for a quick free kick?

I can't see anything wrong with that second goal. Just a huge defensive cock-up.

As for the penalty appeal, I can see why it wasn't given. The defender didn't attempt to tackle Rosicky - it was more that Rosicky kicked the defender as he attempted to kick the ball.

Considering how many seasons ago Arsenal got away with scoring from quickly taken free-kicks (Villa, Wigan, Chelsea) Wenger has got no authority on criticising opposition players taking free kicks. What goes around comes around Mr Wenger.

I feel no sympathy for Wenger, but the referee really did f**k that one up.

It's not the players fault for trying to take a free kick, but the referee should not allow a quick freekick to be allowed unless his hand is in the air. He saw the free kick taking place, and only after the pass was made did he raise his hand.

That being said...GOOD WORK REF! ;)

I was at the library to watch that one and remember a huge amount of smug gooners thinking Henry`s quick free kick was clever and funny.

One word : Karma.

Three additional words : suck it up

:D

Good work ref ::clap2::

when a ref puts his hand in the air its to indicate "wait for the whistle" and if he does that then both teams have to wait for the whistle. If he doesnt then the freekick can be taken whenever
