COMMUNITY SHIELD TICKET NEWS

Posted on: Fri 09 Jul 2010

Ticket sale dates have been announced for the upcoming Community Shield match against Manchester United.

With the game kicking off at 3pm on Sunday 8 August, 26,145 seats have been allocated to Chelsea fans and purchase dates are dependent on loyalty points.

Blues supporters on the Away Scheme will be allowed to purchase a seat on Monday 12 July.

Then on Tuesday 13 July, season ticket holders with 80 loyalty points or more can buy one ticket each.

After that, on Wednesday 14 July, season ticket holders with 67 points or more can purchase a ticket.

All remaining season ticket holders can then purchase a ticket on Thursday 15 July. All sales are subject to availability.

Tickets are priced at £15, £20, £30 and £40. Junior and senior citizens get a £5 discount on the sale of any ticket. A £4.87 booking fee will apply to each transaction.

Non season ticket holders should await further updates.

Only 26,000 tickets ?????? sure we got more than that last time ?

And the booking fee is f*ckin joke........................

Can't understand why the FA have only given Chelsea 26,145 tickets for the Community Shield. Assuming the FA have given Manure the same allocation this is a total of 52,000 which will leave 30,000+ still to be allocated. Chelsea state that this allocation does not satisfy the number of season ticket holders we have and will begin selling these tickets to season ticket holders only on loyalty points gained from last season. Further announcements will be made after 15 July if any tickets remain for members to purchase. I just hope a lot of season ticket holders will be on holiday on 8 August!

Hmm, i got tickets last year as a member. Im sure they didnt sell them based on loyalty points last year

Isnt the booking fee covering the price of sending the tickets out recorded delivery as per the policy of wembley?

Ticket allocations at Wembley are always a joke. I think that Man utd actually get more seats than us because they have a higher average home attendance, but i may be wrong.

Our take up rate wasn't particularly high last season nor was it the previous time we played in this glorified friendly. I'm guessing it's partly because of the timing of the event plus it doesn't feature particularly highly on the radar of many of our regular goers

I've never been to the Community Shield before (usually due to holidays) but I'm going to try and get tickets this year. I've just had a look at how many loyalty points I've got and they've almost doubled since the last time I checked!

Too right Mr Geez - Im gonna save my money for the real matches and they do not include the CL either

Managed to get tickets. My little cousin is over from Ireland and he went mad when he found out he was going to Wembley :)

I must admit I find Wembley a nightmare logistically. After the the FA cup semi and final it is lower down on my list....opting for a couple of friendlies, starting with Palace tomorrow.

Started replying to my own posts...time to go to bed.
