August 14, 201014 yr Has anyone ever scored hattricks in consecutive Div 1/ Premiership games before? Has anyone ever ended one season with a hattrick and started the new season with a hattrick before? good point there ? not another record broken
August 15, 201014 yr Not sure about the ending one season, and starting the enxt, but I know Thierry Henry had back to back hat-tricks. I also think Ferdinand and Wright have too
August 16, 201014 yr Stats nicked from today's Times: Thierry Henry scored the last consecutive hattricks 6 years ago We've scored 28 league goals at home since we last conceded Our 47 goals in the last 10 home league games is the most in the top flight since 1934 (Arse did the same) Our 21 goals in the last three home games is the most since Everton in 1931 No idea if anyone has ever ended one season and started the next with a hattrick.
August 16, 201014 yr I read elsewhere that Dion Dublin did an opening day hattrick (for Coventry?) back in 1997 against us!
August 17, 201014 yr I believe Dion Dublin is the only other person to score a Hat trick on opening day in the Premier League era. So unless he ended the previous season on a Hat Trick on the last day of the previous season, it's definitely a premier league record.
August 20, 201014 yr Stats update Drogba is actually the fourth player to score a hat-trick in two consecutive Premier League games. the others being Les Ferdinand, Ian Wright, and Thierry Henry. he's also the seventh player to score a hat-trick on the first day of the season. no player has ever scored a hat-trick in three consecutive Premiership matches. and there's more: Chelsea are the first team in 101 years to record a +14 goal difference over two top-flight games. The previous Premier League record of goals scored in consecutive games was 13, set by Manchester United in 1997 when they beat Barnsley 7-0 and Sheffield Wednesday 6-1. The next best tally was set earlier this year when Chelsea themselves managed 12 in two games (five against Portsmouth and seven against Aston Villa). LINK
