Hutch
There've been rumours flying around for a while that Carlo Ancelotti is due to make a sudden exit. This is what the man himself has to say on the subject: No contract talks for CarloAncelotti not thinking about future at the moment Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti insists he has no need to discuss a new contract any time soon. The former AC Milan chief has 18 months left on his current contract at Stamford Bridge. But Ancelotti is unconcerned by talk of his future, insisting that a coach's contract is very different to that of a player. "I have a contract with Chelsea until 2012 and I want to respect this," he said. "So we haven't started talking about a new one yet - it's not necessary. "Now is not the time. There is a long season to play. Then we will see. "Maybe a player would start to talk now but a coach is not like a player. The situation is different. "The coach's contract has a different weight from the contract of a player because the coach's contract is not the property of the club. "If a player misses two games, the club doesn't say to him 'You have to go.' If the coach gets it wrong and loses two games, maybe sometimes they do!" Ancelotti insists he is not thinking about leaving Chelsea, but admits he would relish the chance to manage a national side one day. "I hope to stay. I won't have a problem to sign a new contract," he said. "But even then this won't be my last job. I would like to have experience with a national team." Nibs
There've been rumours flying around for a while that Carlo Ancelotti is due to make a sudden exit. This is what the man himself has to say on the subject: Must say, that's the first I've heard of this. Sounds like a bit of a non story really. He won the double in his first season and IF he manages more trophies this season (especially the much coveted CL trophy) then in the summer he could more or less name his price, so why on earth would he want to sign a new contract now? Would like to think he'll be our manager for the next decade and then someone like Robbie D or Lamps might be ready to take over.

There was a rumour that Roma were after Ancelott, and another that Roman wanted to bring in Pep Guardiola. I won't bother looking for links or quotes because I'm as sure as I can be that both stories are just that - fiction.

Tea Bar Boy
Link to made up story Source : http://www.tribalfootball.com/rome-media-buzzing-over-chelsea-exit-talk-ancelotti-1220811 Rome media is buzzing over reports Carlo Ancelotti could be pushed out of Chelsea. Spanish sources declared last week wild rumours that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich was planning to push out Ancelotti and replace him with Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola. The Russian billionaire also is said to want to install ex-Barca sports chief Txiki Begiristain as new football director. This has led to speculation in Rome that crisis club AS Roma could roll out the welcome mat for Ancelotti. The Italian has made it no secret of his dream to one day coach Roma. TheWestwayWonder
The only thing that worries me about Carlo leaving is when (not if) he is offered the Azzurri job by the FIGC. I think he will be sorely sorely tempted to take it. Hopefully that is after 10 years and a boatload of trophies won here in London. Carlo can take Franco as his number 2 and groom him as a successor. Maverick
I would give up on football. Seriously. Good thing its from tribal. Was thinking the same, thank god its tribal because I cant make anything out of this story. He looks settled & happy and so do the players and the management, no way is Roman going to let him go easily having burnt his fingers with the likes of Scolari. Bobbywoodhogan
As if Carlo would leave right now anyway, and as if Roman would push him out after he won the double. Edited November 3, 2010 by Bobbywoodhogan
Hutch
I think people are focusing on the wrong aspects of this thread - the garbage rumours rather than strong possibility that Carlo will leave Chelsea to manage Italy at some time in the future. Here's the Mirror's take on the same story: Ancelotti eyes international post after Chelsea reignCarlo Ancelotti last night admitted he will leave Chelsea to try his hand at international management - but only after completing his second contract at Stamford Bridge. Ancelotti is not pushing for talks on a new deal despite approaching the mid-way point of the three year deal he signed when he joined the Blues from Milan in 2009. But the Italian does want to extend his spell at SW6 into the middle of this decade, before calling time on his club career and then branching out into international management. Ancelotti, whose side will qualify for the Champions League last 16 with two matches to spare if they beat Spartak Moscow this evening, said: "I have a contract with Chelsea until 2012 and I want to respect this. "So we haven't started talking about a new one yet - it's not necessary. "Now is not the time. There is a long season to play. Then we will see." Ancelotti, signed by Roman Abramovich because the Chelsea owner believed he was the man to finally bring him the Champions League trophy he craves above all others, added: "Maybe a player would start to talk now but a coach is not like a player. The situation is different. "The coach's contract has a different weight from the contract of a player because the coach's contract is not the property of the club. "If a player misses two games, the club doesn't say to him 'You have to go.' If the coach gets it wrong and loses two games, maybe sometimes they do! "I hope to stay. I won't have a problem to sign a new contract. "But even then this won't be my last job. I would like to have experience with a national team." That desire to test himself at the only level he has not tried yet comes despite Ancelotti agreeing with Sir Alex Ferguson that the Champions League is a better standard of football than the World Cup. He added: I think that the Champions League is the best competition in the world. "The Champions League shows better football compared to the World Cup because teams have a possibility to prepare this kind of play, you have the time to prepare the team and the squad. The football is better. As a club, this is the best competition in the world." LINK
mad_mac
I'd very much like for Carlo to spend 6 years minimum with us
