CFC pubs in Liverpool

Apologies if I'm posting this in the wrong place. First trip up to Liverpool this weekend, wondering if there's any particular pubs in which Blues fans get together up there for pre-match pints and songs, and to have safety in numbers from the dippers?

Cheers

I've drank in The Cabbage Hall over the years, The Arkles, Flat Iron were also away friendly.

Also have a look at this guide.

Im studying in liverpool and will be having a few pints in Spoons in the city centre before the game. then its a 10 minute bus.

They have educational institutions up there?

Yes we do mate. I've been a Chelsea fan for 15 years but I'm a scouser, born and bred. Thank you very much.

I've met a few scouse Chelsea fans over the years, once down at Southampton at the Dell in the late 80s early 90s, they'd made a weekend of it, we couldnt believe with the success the city had had over the years with both Everton & Liverpool those lads chose to support us.

The other time we had a family of scousers sat behind us at a league cup game at Anfield in 2001, the whole family young & old were in Chelsea gear.

Fair play, do you get a lot of stick for being Chels?

Most of my family are Liverpool fans, bar a couple of Evertonians and four United fans. Me and my uncle support Chelsea though.

Oh yes. I get 'rentboy' chanted at me quite often, despite being female. Don't really give one, though!

The ones that are born and bred Londoners have massive chips on their shoulders. I have had many a heated argument with London Liverpool followers.

I do have a question though. What's with the bin dipper nickname for Liverpool? I never understood it. I've lived here my whole 29 years and not seen anyone dipping in bins. And surely Everton would have the same nickname then as they are all scousers? :-/ lol.

In your Liverpool slums
You look in the dustbin for something to eat
You find a dead rat and you think it's a treat
In your Liverpool slums
In your Liverpool slums
You sh*t on the carpet, you piss in the bath
You finger your grandma, and think its a laugh
In your Liverpool slums

In your Liverpool slums
You speak in an accent exceedingly rare
You wear a pink tracksuit and have curly hair
In your Liverpool slums

In your Liverpool slums
Your mum's on the game and your dad's in the nick
You can't get a job cos you're too f**king thick
In your Liverpool slums

not sure of the origins of bin dipper but this used to be a song sung to them across the country

Well i'm a scouser so i find that offensive but i suppose football fans all sing something to each other. I wouldn't sing vile songs about the people of this city cos i AM one, despite the fact i support Chelsea.

Fair play to you mate, back in the 70s and 80s there was a lot of songs sung to opposing fans that were very derogatory. It was part and parcel of a match day when grounds were far from sterile in the atmosphere and some could be extremely hostile, Liverpool being one of the worst places to visit as an away fan.
