Hi all,

 

my first post on this forum, so just a little about me and my Chelsea support.

 

I first started supporting Chelsea on the 5th March 1966, this was the day that my team Shrewsbury, played Chelsea in the fa cup 5th round, Chelsea won a cracking game 3-2, so i then wanted Chelsea to win the cup that year, this began a love affair which has lasted the best part of 50 years.

If anyone knows of any photos or video footage of the game i would be extremely grateful.

 

Favourite all time player        Peter Osgood

Favourite match                    Has to be Chelsea v Shrewsbury 1966

Biggest thrill                         Winning champions league

Biggest disappointment         John Terry missing penalty champions league final

 

Its not very often i can get to see Chelsea live any more but thanks to sky and Chelsea tv i can see all the matches.

Heres to a successful season and bringing the premier league title back to the bridge

I did see a couple of colour photos of this game not too long ago, I think Shrewsbury were playing in all red? I'll have a scout around and see if I can find them. My late uncle went to this game and gave me the programme, I must have been eight years old.

Ah a fellow Salopian Chelsea fan!  I count Shrewsbury as my second team and go along a few times a season - thinking about going along to the Galataseray pre-season match.  Do you still live in the area and are you going to go?

Shrewsbury did play in all red, if my memory is correct Chelsea went 3-0 up and Shrewsbury pulled it back to 3-2 and also had a goal disallowed for offside, i wonder if anyone remembers the great Peter Broadbent who played for Shrewsbury, a former Wolves and England international player.

Beerqueen- i live in Shrewsbury and go and watch them 6 or 7 times a season,i will probably go and watch Galatasaray just to see Drogba,

 i try and get to watch Chelsea when they play Midland teams if i can get tickets (my son is an avid Chelsea fan so he has to go to) we usually end up sitting with the home supporters as its the only way we can get tickets
