Thorgan Hazard is loaned to Zulte again (not Anderlecht or Genk, which was expected)

 

The deal includes that he becomes the new captain, and the contract also says he will be "taking all penalties, free kicks and corners". The manager knew about it but didn't tell the players untill the PSV-game four days ago. (source: VTM national television)

It sounds implausible, but I wouldn't be surprised the Zulte board agreed with these conditions, they even wanted to sell the club a few months ago. Overall, a very ludicrous situation... players with their heads down, empty press conferences,... big joke, and only one who is to blame is the Zulte board.

That club has some serious problems.

Like that article fathoms, I wish Chelsea could press reset button on this deal and send him to a league where there's a bit more quality. I know he did great with them last year, but it seems like there's a lot of messing around at Waregem.

Also, seeing as he got a call up to the national team, I wonder if he'll retain that place this season seeing as the world cup is coming up. Very interesting situation surrounding Thorgan. (f**king love that name)

I always felt that he was only signed to please Eden. I never ever expect him to actually play for our first team to be honest.

It's looking like a strong possibility. Eden didn't lie when he said his brother has talent. He's right now looking one of the best prospects in Belgium football.

 

Tonight Zulte Waregem beat Anderlecht 4-3. Thorgan scored, assisted three times but missed a penalty. I believe he's now had 4 goals and 4 assists in 9 games. He could may well lead Zulte to their first ever Pro League title if the season goes well.
