Swindon Away Video

Getting more and more concerned about our away support now. The amount of 'tourists' going is getting ridiculous.

At the two aways I've been to this season, you could take out half of the away end and you wouldn't notice the difference. Would expect it to be better at WHL because of how much harder it is to get tickets. Nothing worse than being stood next to some berk that doesn't make a sound for the entire match.

Thanks for the video, was watching on tele last night thinking that our end didn't seem to be getting much going.

Cracking effort mate, I see the Utd fans still in prime position for pouring certain liquids on top of us. Loved the Swindon away, reminded me of old terracing years back. I will be looking forward to the rest of the season.

It'll be much different at WHL, I think our end was shocking last night due to the amount of people from Swindon in our end (in my opinion) The usual West Ham Away, Spurs away, Leeds etc always has the die hards, can't wait!

EVERYONE TO LIVERPOOL STREET THEN..See ya

If you are anywhere near me at spuds  youll hear plenty of vocal support

I'm not going  although I expect to hear you pulling the strings through the speakers on tele!

I agree, but you don't have to be a diehard to join in with the songs. Maybe beer should be mandatory, that would help

Mate it's rubbish isn't it? Against Fulham we sang "stand up if you hate Tottenham" and in my section only myself and my two mates stood up, we were shed lower right round near the west stand, so we spun round and gave the people around us a chorus of y*ddos, they didn't even care. I have two mates who wont attend home games, haven't for about 5 years now because of the plastics, sad to hear the away support is getting just as bad. I normally only do the London and Birmingham away games and to be fair the support has been half decent.

I've got a good feeling about Spurs away!

What I don't understand is, if you're not going to get up and get involved with the songs and make some noise, why not just stay in and watch it on tele?

Everyone has the right to go to match, and they do not HAVE to sing, but the quality of a teams fans is largely based on how much noise they make and how good an atmosphere they create.

The next match I'll likely be able to go to is WBA home... safe to say I won't need any earplugs.

No alcohol at Swindon in the ground, not sure if many went to a pub before either

There was quite a few of us at the cricket club just behind the away end before the game, Swindon usually have an away club outside the away end, but on the day it was for home supporters

Spot on AdamCFC id never tell people how they should support our team but hey, you pay a lot of money to watch so why not enjoy yourself? Going back to when I was a teen it was all about upholding your manor being the toughest etc, out singing away fans and home for that matter and laughing them out of the ground. Things have changed I realise that but surely the min is now to out sing the away fans and give them a hard time verbally? My next home game is Southamption I might bring my pillow!

The whole football culture is diluted beyond recognition. dstoner is totally correct about what it was like. You as a fan always wanted your sides supporters to be the loudest, best travellers, hardest. It was as important as the football to many people! Remember, in the 70s and 80s, football fans were generally young and male. Nowadays it can still be the same old fellas from that era, who are the most vocal! When i go to chelsea now it has to be in the MHL, because it is the only place for any proper atmosphere. Id rather get a seat in there on my own than sit elsewhere with mates! There has been home matches in recent years when i have been disgusted at what now passes for a chelsea fan!!
