Can you hear the chelsea sing?

Featured Replies

I have seen there is other threads on this topic but i have just joined this forum so though i would try and get something going.

I have been going to matches since i was 4 and am now 26. I have noticed in the last few years the atmosphere has been dying out. The away fans coming to the bridge are much louder with just a small section of fans.

I have seen that other teams have been starting up groups of fans to start songs and to keep them going which is what i think is needed at the bridge.

It would be good to get a group of fans together to do this and get groups in all areas of the stadium so that it isnt just one area that is making all the noise.

Just wanted some feedback to what people think about this!!!!

Graham how did it go on Saturday and how was the meeting? Did the plan seem concrete and do you reckon it will be longstanding. Looking to go to a lot more games next season when in London. Perhaps we need to try and push for a club to have a section where persistent standing will be tolerated etc so you get like minded people in tje same place.

Mac I only got to the cock on the north end road at 1.30 the meeting was meant to be on at 1.15 so I was running abit late. I went in looking for a chelsea flag hanging so I could locate the meeting no flag to be seen. Got myself a cider and thought I saw Richard so I approached a guy thinking it was Richard but it wasn't made abit of a mug of myself lol. As for the atmosphere in the shed it was only ok and the rest of the stand was shocking. Couldn't believe how quite the Mhl was and the west didn't sing once. I stood for the whole game.

The singing at the palace game deffo was shocking. I took my little girl to it and even she asked why no one was singing (she is 4!)

I will try an get my tickets in shed upper now then.

Are you thinking about getting a meet-up going before the game.

I think we should go the Palace way. Have a look on YT, they've got a section that stand and sing throughout the game, produce flags etc, it looks really good...not sure how they started it, or how they got together in one section, but they really create a great atmosphere. Palace must encourage it, to allow the standing etc.

The Bridge is crying out for something like this.....

Too right Mac, the club needs to get involved too, we could turn the atmosphere around and create something something special

You kidding me?  When I was over there (I sat in the Matthew Harding Lower), I sang myself hoarse! We sang "Carefree" so many times I lost count, then a couple of rounds of "John Obi Mikel scores when he wants" after the aforementioned scored.

The Palace game was shocking.  And that prick Tony Gale used it as a stick to beat us with the entire game.

It doesn't help when season ticket holders are getting told to stay seated, and that prolonged standing will not be tolerated - this was printed on the actual tickets!

Awful! Flew all the way to London from Nigeria just to feel the atmosphere at the bridge during the Palace game and regretted the amount of money spent on that worthless venture, thought at times Chelsea where the away team with the rude silence from our fans. As a true Super Eagles of Nigeria fan u need to feel the supporters club singing whenever the Eagles r on display.

Yeah mate I feel bad for you, especially if you flew over from Nigeria just for that game. Did you at least have other reasons to visit?

Crazy how men and women on another continent can be louder and more passionate for the Blues than a lot of the folk who attend matches, but it really can be the case. Heck I'm louder supporting Chelsea in Africa than in the UK.

My friends in Uganda don't believe me when I tell them there is a better atmosphere in the video halls and bars which they watch the game in. Honestly, I would rather watch a home game in a video hall than at the stadium. Away games though are a different story.

Guilty.  I scream at the TV and sing all the time whenever I watch them.  Drives my family nuts.  So when I went to that match in September, I was in hog heaven. Oh, and that little thing on the ticket that said "Prolonged standing will not be tolerated"? Nobody cared about that.  People were standing and singing at least 70% of the match, if not more. Again, this was the Matthew E Harding Lower.
