Our run in

Featured Replies

So I quickly put this together and it's quite clear how good our run in is compared to the other 2 contenders .

Is Jose just trying to take some pressure off our players by saying we are the "little horse?" .

Arsenal would do well to get 10 points from their next eight fixtures, but momentum is a funny thing. Good wins against Liverpool and Manchester United will see them brimming with confidence and they are a traditionally a strong-finishing team as their players come back from injury.

City have a tough one on paper, but given this season's form realistically you'd expect Liverpool (A) to be their only potential banana skin. If anything, our defeat may have pricked their skins a bit, the return of Aguero and a good performance vs Barcelona would give them the necessary momentum to push on.

On paper we have the easiest run in but just look at the games we've played vs those "small" sides. We've really struggled to score goals, and though we've improved at creating chances as the season progresses, we don't have the cutting edge our rivals do. I'd back us to comfortably do Tottenham, Arsenal, Everton and Liverpool but it's the smaller sides particularly away from home that we will struggle with to both create chances and score them. The ace in our pack is that neither media nor club are getting carried away with title aspirations, the purchase of Matic suggested as much. If we wanted to compete in the short term we would've brought in a striker for sure.

Another intriguing thing is that all three teams face relegation candidates in the final round. City have the beefit of being at home, Arsenal and Chelsea have two very tricky ties, so we would not want a repeat of 2009/10 or 11/12!

Arsenals next 9 fixtures are absolutely brutal ..........

Even more brutal when you see that they have two games against Bayern Munich somewhere in between.

I fully expect Bayern to wipe the f**king floor with Arsenal.

Has anyone noticed how tight it is at the bottom?  Villa in 10th are only 5 points off relegation.  We've got half the league under threat of going under, and the other half divided between the title or top 4 race.  There will be upsets.

Either we're supremely lucky or our medical staff is incredible.  I can't remember the last time we had a proper injury crisis, while Arse and City are suffering.  Eva is our secret weapon in the run-in.

Keep in mind at the end of the season that the teams in the relegation scrap can be the hardest games of all. Our last 2 games could be very difficult if they're both on wobbling around 17th/18th and so could Arsenals. Meanwhile there is a very good chance that by the time City go to Goodison they have nothing left to play for.

Just keep the heads down, beat whose in front of you and whatever happens happens. No need to worry about other teams.
