Hutch came over as such a nice bloke. He looked pretty well back then, but it wasn't that long before his very sad and very premature death.

I remember him featuring in a documentary - maybe a World in Action show - about the use of cortisone injections in football. They had a dressing room full of ex-players from the 60s and 70s who were practically crippled, due to playing with serious injuries masked by cortisone. Hutch's knees didn't even look like knees, they were so knackered. His career was totally wrecked by injuries.

I remember him being described as the bravest player ever. Not sure if it was the bravest Chelsea player ever, but he certainly played his heart out for us.

Lol. Legend of a player never got to see him play live as i was too young but seen many videos of him and tough as old boots. Particularly like the 50-50 challenge with bremner in the replay with bremner squealing like a little girl and hutch giving it the shut your f**king rabbit gesture.
