Yes I know it's u21's but weds was a very good night to be a blueboy - apart from someone at mancs who thought it was a good idea to have all fans together, so I sat surrounded by hundreds mouthy mancs - brilliant

Anyway, the point is really about our excellent team of young stars in the making, absolutely top class, and we out played them whole night

So start with the keeper - we should make him 3rd choice now, regardless of what happens with courtious/cech, jermal is very very good

Then christianson - not yet first team but needs very careful management cos he is carvalho plus

Then midfield trio Ake, Lewis and loftus-cheek - these 3 played completely fluid system and changed roles all night. One minute Lewis in the 10 role, then loftus then Ake. remember loftus is only just 18! . Nathan and Lewis must get squad numbers next season and must get playing time. Nathan can pass, tackle, battle, lead and communicate, and can play left back, midfield and centre back - so lets blood him in next season

Lewis is the star in the making, got it all - don't go on loan. Straight into the squad - he has the confidence, cockiness, talent, and finishing ability - good as Oscar 2 years ago.

Loftus-cheek too early but if he can mature and develop next level then he can be good enough

Lastly dermot drummy deserves credit too, and neil bath. This was u21 but we had 4 18 year olds in our team. We played a clever passing game with good movement and incisive passing and fluidity - better team by far.

Oh and at the end of the game, the mancs flooded out of the theatre and we stayed to celebrate

Great night boys well done

Would dearly love to see some of our youngsters given a decent chance at first team level, but it never seems to happen. Just look at Josh mceachran, Lassana Diarra, Bertrand Traore and Gael Kakuta,.to name but four.

Traore hasn't been here long so you can hardly throw him in

Would love to see that midfield trio get squad numbers and get some minutes each, along with Kalas getting a start every now and then.

Around this time a year ago Barcelona were apparently interested in Loftus-Cheek? Plus we already know the quality of Baker and Ake. Unfortunately I cant see them getting much of a chance.

diarra got plenty of first team football, he just left because he didnt want to wait for makelele to retire before playing in his favourite position

I was also at the game.  I think Swift was also in the midfield switching at times, it was really noticeable how fluid the midfield system was, and how disciplined they were making sure there was always someone in defensive midfield.

Also mentions for Ssew**kambo (Isak) at right back and Ola Aina at centreback, both had really solid games.  If Isak continues to progress he could be a beast of a right back in a couple of years time.

Good night all round.  Especially Lewis leading zigger-zagger in the post game celebrations.
