Hi Gang,

Great to be apart of the forum!

I've been a Chelsea fan for about 5 years now. I watch almost every game which requires me to either get up a ridiclous hour of the night (3am,4am) to watch the lads play or record the game and avoid finiding out the score (sometimes hard when your mates are sh*t) but it's always worth it, even though the mrs can give me grief about it !

I started following the club after randoming selecting Chelsea as my team in FIFA on PS3 years ago. I had no idea about the club (histoy, players, good/bad) but decided to start following the Premier League and Chelsea as my team. Since then I have grown a passion for not only the club, but the game itself.

I'm apart of the Chelsea supporters group in Melbourne so it's nice to be able to talk to locals about Chelsea and also attend games at the pub with most of the members in full voice.

It's been a dream of mine to see the lads play in the flesh and I'll hopefully get that opportunity next month when I'm in London for a few weeks but I'm finding it difficult to get my hands on tickets unfornately, fingers crossed something comes up.

Any advice or info you can give me while I'm over in London would be greatly appreciated. I might even see a few of you at the pub before a game ;)

Nick

Have you visited London before?

Best city in the world, imho. How long are you staying for?

I've heard nothing but great things from people who have been before so I'm expecting it to be amazing. Roughly 10 days. Land on April 6th and then jet off to Ireland and Scotland for a few weeks.

The weather has been unusually mild and the clocks will have changed so you should be ok weather wise.

Depending on your interests: travel the tube off peak to take in some of the wonderful station architecture. Many galleries are free and those that aren't can be part of a multi ticket. The London bus tour will take you to see most of the main sites. If you plan ahead the sight seeing side of things won't blow the budget. If you like walking there are a number of reasonably priced guided walks to take in back streets. Cream teas vary in price across the capital, but is something English not to be missed, the Opera House has recently started to offer them. I could go on and on and on... The London tourist info site is superb as is TFL. Plenty of folk o n here will offer help and advice.

Most of all hope you enjoy your stay.

Fantastic! I definately plan to take some tours so thanks for the advice! Much appreciated! Bring on London!

Welcome mate and great to have a fellow supporter from Melbourne join the forum! Now I'm not alone :good2:

London's a terrific place and you'll have a ball I'm sure but I haven't been in a long time so it's probably changed quite drastically since I last went plus the locals know the ins and outs of the place better than I do obviously when it comes to good meet up spots and the best places to hang out pre-match and post-match.

The Melbourne Chelsea Supporters group is great down at the Portland Hotel. Russ and the boys are a very passionate bunch but to my own detriment I haven't watched a game with them for quite a few seasons now due to other commitments in my life but hopefully I'll be back down there some point in the near future.

Anyway good to have another Australian join the forum and it doesn't matter how long you've been supporting the club I'm more pleased to see that you've embraced the club, appreciate the history of the club and most importantly are passionate about them as a whole.

Thanks, Jezz :)

It's difficult to get to the pub with Russ and the gang but it's always very enjoyable when I get the opporunity to do so. Great bunch of people!

Hopefully more support from Melbourne will come on this forum in future but at least there's a few of us already to wave the flag.

Might see you down at the pub sometime.

Cheers

Do you follow the AFL Oh Diego? In my opinion it is better than soccer

I'll answer it instead if Oh Diego hasn't seen it already but I'll say AFL's a brilliant game and on par with football (soccer).

I think AFL is a better sport but I don't get the chance to watch it that often.

I usually go to the Ireland v Australia compromise rules games which are ok but they were better during the 2000's.

I struggle to get into the International Rules series for some reason. I remember it being more popular in the 2000s as well.

Love the game even though it's got pretty soft over the years due to rules changes.

I follow the mighty Sydney Swans! I was absolutely shattered after last year's Grand Final defeat but I'm holding high hopes for the new season ahead.

Less than 3 weeks to go!

Welcome to the ShedEnd, Oh Diego!  I hope you have a wonderful time in London and maybe manage to meet up with some other ShedEnders!   ::ChELSeAFaN::

Thanks, Moi.

If I can somehow get tickets to QPR away then I'd love to have a beer or 10 with the gang pre game. I'd really enjoy that!
