Agree. I never saw Pochettino as a long-term proposition, but he was a potential gateway to something better once we stabilised ourselves and our young players matured.
To rip it up and go for an unknown in Maresca was idiotic to say the least.

One thing Poch didn’t make me want to do is stop watching my team play. Win, lose or draw with Poch it was chaos and it was exciting!!!
Ask any opposition fan last season and we would be top of the list as teams they would watch as. neutral.

This doesn’t mean he was the right person as I don’t think he was long term but letting him finish his two year deal and continue the progression would do been ideal.

We have football that just bores me to death.

Klopp 14 years in management. 2 league titles in a top division, CL finalist.
Pep 11 years in management. 6 league titles in top divisions. Multiple CL winner.
Mourinho 4 years in management. 2 league titles in top division. CL winner.

Maresca. 1 and a half years in management. Sacked by Parma after 14 games and took a PL team to a Championship title by one point with some of the most boring football their fans have ever seen.

These managers can't be compared, honestly insulting.

I'm apathetic to the whole situation now and that's amazing given we're still somehow in a top 4 race.
Maresca's turgid football has made me emotionally check out this season. What the owners and sporting directors see in this guy I will never understand.
I preferred watching us under Pochettino despite its chaotic and inconsistent performances. At least he had a record of developing young players and coaching in Europe's top leagues, and the style of football was attacking in nature despite our defensive problems.
The Arsenal match played out exactly how I expected. Didn't lay a glove on them whatsoever.

Hey Todd ... given the current atmosphere and entertainment level at home games, how about a new shirt sponsor suggestion !
Sponsor could offer discounted pillows and blankets for all CFC season-ticket holders outside the ground on match days 😴🤑

Honestly can't work these owners out. Why are they here ? What do they actually want ?
If it was profit, you surely wouldn't pay £2.3 billion (and with a promise to spend £1.75 billion on top of that) for an asset that the previous guy paid £140m for only 19 years earlier, especially when you immediately replace most of the behind-the-scenes infrastructure and playing staff that he had built (basically saying that it was valueless), and sign £800m worth of replacement players for £1.2 billion, and pay them huge multiples of their wages at previous clubs. Nor would you forego £80m of shirt sponsorship, and pay out yet more millions in compensation for your poor manager/coach hiring and firing decisions.
If was sporting excellence, you wouldn't hire two average scouts to oversee your footballing operations as "pseudo" sporting directors, and then let them sign the likes of Potter and Maresca to run the team (I'll give Poch a pass as he did at least have significant top club pedigree), and sign a load of mainly kids with potential for exorbitant fees, while simultaneously demonstrating that you have zero idea how to compile a balanced elite level squad.
    So what is it ?
    (1) A speculative bet on the PL market and club valuations doubling in 10 years regardless of how the club is run ?
    (2) A real estate grab for Stamford Bridge ?
    (3) A desire to completely destroy Roman's legacy at the club ? (H-J Wyss must be creaming himself at how this is going LOL)

None of it makes much sense as things stand.

Mathematically, we are doing pretty well in the top 4 chase. But with the run of tough games coming up, could be down to 6th or 8th if we don't improve. The last 2 teams we beat are going to get relegated, so it's not like we really improved in recent weeks. The Arsenal game was basically a no-show, Arsenal walked through the whole game, probably wondered why we never tried to land a punch on them. Their player even got a handsake from Maresca with a minute to go in the game 🤐

His dumb slow sideways passing has sucked all enjoyment I have out of the game.
There is no version of his football that will bring us success.
The Tika Tika era of football is over and he’s not going to realise that until we are too far behind. The two 🤡s of a sporting directors haven’t realised that either but they wouldn’t realise that even if it slapped them in the face.

If you look at all the top teams now around Europe all fast attacking teams.

Of course I miss managers like Ancelotti, Tuchel, and Mourinho.

I'm talking about our recent mistakes under the board. We were under a heavy transition season under Pochettino, trying to play a different style of football. It was far from perfect but it was at least going somewhere and I was really looking forward to the next season to see what progress we could make. It's all good pointing out the negatives, but we had some very talented attackers in the team, our counter attacking football was lethal and we took that into the start of this season until it was coached out of them. Now... What are we actually good at? Please tell me, I would love to know.

Comparing this season to last is just ridiculous, we SHOULD be doing better. The players have more experience, we've 'allegedly' bolstered certain positions with more options, yet they all look worse. We've made a terrible decision to hire a Championship manager who's too pragmatic, way out of his depth, and took us back to playing possession-obsessed rigid football. That's just a massive f**k you to the process, why waste an entire season if we're going to revert back anyway...

This team is good enough for top 4 but this manager will have you thinking we are plucky underdogs. Look at any of the managers in the top 10 teams and try to tell me that not one of them would be doing a better job than Enzo.
His style of play goes in direct contradiction with the players we have at our disposal and also the ones we have signed coming in the summer.
I’m just tired. We have wasted yet another season. This one probably worse than last as we had the chance to really kick on had we got things right in the summer.

I remember the game where we beat Brighton and Palmer scored all 4 goals, we were playing counter attack that day. Back then, I was thinking that maybe Maresca has added something new to his coaching, but no, he was just giving the team time until he forced his own system on to them. Since he's done that, we have been abysmal.
If we were playing Maresca-ball since day 1, I don't even think we would be in the top 10 right now.
