I think we play Oscar in the wrong position and don't think it suits him best. Everytime I've seen him play for brazil , he seems to play better as a link up playmaker type , more central than advanced. A bit likeĀ  Deschamp's style with everything going through himĀ  Discuss.....

I think he should be doing exactly what he is doing now, creating space for his team mates and using his natural intelligence to move defenders around and use that movement to link up with his fellow attackers... like a link-up playmaker I suppose. Regardless of his hard work off the ball he is still better served playing further forward where he can create space between the lines rather than in front of the midfield where I think he would be far more limited in what he can do with the ball. That said I can understand your desperation for a decent creative centre mid considering Fabregas' form and our woeful lack of similar alternatives.

Ā

Also Deschamps wasn't really a playmaker, I would argue he was a pure centre mid,Ā more similar to someone like Mikel or Carrick than Oscar, although admittedly I only really saw Deschamps at the tail-end of his career so I can't speak with any authority regarding how he played for Juve or Marseille.

I think he would be well suited as part of a 3 man midfield almost like the box to box role Frank used to play, he certainly has the energy and links up play well, might be worth a crack seeing as nothing else is working atm.
