I am trying to get hold of a Portsmouth v Chelsea programme from 1 September 1951 as this is the exact date my brother in law was born and I thought it would make a good Christmas present.  The only one I have found is £25 which is a bit steep I think.  Any ideas where else to search online - I don't want to start going to programme fairs or anything if I can help it.

No luck BQ,ive just asked a mate in the know & he said good condition they go for around the £20 mark, so your not far off with the one you've found.

I've looked at some old programmes recently and that does sound a bit steep,I'll try to find the website that was really good when I was looking.

I done the same thing for my dad a few years ago, ended up with 2 programmes which look excellent together in a nice frame.

Nope!  Still got the search active on ebay but zilch.  I occasionally get one for the reverse fixture that season (i.e Chelsea at home) but nothing for the Portsmouth one - I guess very few were bought, let alone kept.

Actually, no sorry I haven't.

Think the oldest Chelsea programme I had was 1957 or 58.
