Posted April 15, 20169 yr Made his debut against Aston Villa. He's one of our academy players and seems like he's really talented defender. He made the senior team, now he has to work harder to get more minutes and prove himself. Today I read that Terry is really rating him and he believes in him that he can be JT's replacement. " John Terry: I hope Jake Clarke-Salter takes my place in Chelsea team" If our Captain, Leader, Legend says something, then it has to be correct and knows what he's saying. Who knows, maybe we really got a talented defender, who can lead our defence in future. What do you think about him? (sorry if there's a thread about him, couldn't find any) Edited April 15, 20169 yr by IliyaKrostin
April 15, 20169 yr I think as captain it's only natural that JT would talk up someone who was born 10 miles from the Bridge (and rightly so). I said before that I think he's good at youth level but has some way to go before he's ready for the first team. At 18 JT was showing something to suggest that he could hold his own against higher age groups, personally I don't see the same in Clarke-Salter. I think he'll do well to reach Joleon Lescott/Micah Richards 'level' (who as we know are both playing for a Premier League team that have been relegated). Edited April 15, 20169 yr by the special one

He's already got more technical ability than both of the Aston Villa players you mentioned. However, I agree that he has a long way to go, particularly physically if he wants to reach the very top level.
April 15, 20169 yr "Jake has a great attitude. I remember watching him a couple of years ago being in control of the game and a really vocal player. He reminds me a bit of myself." "He is doing great and I hope he goes on to take my position and get in the first team. It was great for him to make his debut. I was disappointed I wasn't there to support him because I missed the game [through injury]. But watching it from home, I was delighted." -John Terry You forgot the best bit!
