Maksimov
Ok...just for a laugh...what movies are these quotes from? 1) "The smaller the attendance the bigger the history. There were 12 people at the Last Supper. Half a dozen at Kitty Hawk. Archimedes was on his own in the bath."2) "I wanted to see exotic Vietnam...the crown jewel of Southeast Asia. I wanted to meet interesting and stimulating people of an ancient culture...and kill them. I wanted to be the first kid on my block to get a confirmed kill!" 3) "Back when I was picking beans in Guatemala, we used to make fresh coffee, right off the trees I mean. That was good. This is sh*t but, hey, I'm in a police station." 4) "Survival kit contents check. In them you'll find: one forty-five caliber automatic; two boxes of ammunition; four days' concentrated emergency rations; one drug issue containing antibiotics, morphine, vitamin pills, pep pills, sleeping pills, tranquilizer pills; one miniature combination Russian phrase book and Bible; one hundred dollars in roubles; one hundred dollars in gold; nine packs of chewing gum; one issue of prophylactics; three lipsticks; three pair of nylon stockings. Shoot, a fella' could have a pretty good weekend in Vegas with all that stuff." 5) "Remember those posters that said, "Today is the first day of the rest of your life?" Well, that's true with every day except one: the day that you die." 6) "I watched a snail crawl along the edge of a straight razor. That's my dream. That's my nightmare. Crawling, slithering, along the edge of a straight...razor...and surviving." 7) "I like these calm little moments before the storm. It reminds me of Beethoven. Can you hear it? It's like when you put your head to the grass and you can hear the growin' and you can hear the insects. Do you like Beethoven?" 8) "Oh but if I went 'round sayin' I was Emperor, just because some moistened bint lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away." 9) "Of course. The rabbit's not like us. It has no...keen look at something in the mirror, it has no history books, no photographs, no knowledge of sorrow or regret...I mean, I'm sorry, Miss Pommeroy, don't get me wrong; y'know, I like rabbits and all. They're cute and they're horny. And if you're cute and you're horny, then you're probably happy, in that you don't know who you are and why you're even alive. And you just wanna' have sex, as many times as possible, before you die...I mean, I just don't see the point in crying over a dead rabbit! Y'know, who...who never even feared death to begin with." 10) "Since you're new here, I'm gonna cut you a break...today. So, why don't you make like a tree and get out of here?" 11) "Phew! I haven't felt that good since Archie Gemmill scored against Holland in 1978!" 12) "I suddenly remembered my Charlemagne. Let my armies be the rocks and the trees and the birds in the sky..." 13) "The key to faking out the parents is the clammy hands. It's a good non-specific symptom; I'm a big believer in it. A lot of people will tell you that a good phony fever is a dead lock, but, uh... you get a nervous mother, you could wind up in a doctor's office. That's worse than school. You fake a stomach cramp, and when you're bent over, moaning and wailing, you lick your palms. It's a little childish and stupid, but then, so is high school." 14) "Oh, I'm not afraid of you, I'm not afraid of anything. I'm a grandmother and a female and I've got my rights. You can bull all the others but you can't bull me. I've fought whiskey and I've fought gambling and I can certainly fight you." 15) "Gentlemen, Chicolini here may talk like an idiot, and look like an idiot, but don't let that fool you: he really is an idiot. I implore you, send him back to his father and brothers, who are waiting for him with open arms in the penitentiary. I suggest that we give him ten years in Leavenworth, or eleven years in Twelveworth." 16) "Hey, Tony. Remember when I told you when you first started working for me, the guys that last in this business, are the guys who fly straight. Low-key, quiet. But the guys who want it all, chicas, champagne, flash...they don't last." 17) "If you hold back anything, I'll kill ya. If you bend the truth or I think your bending the truth, I'll kill ya. If you forget anything I'll kill ya. In fact, you're gonna have to work very hard to stay alive, Nick. Now do you understand everything I've said? Because if you don't, I'll kill ya." 18) "How can you trust a man who wears both a belt and suspenders? The man can't even trust his own pants." 19) "Man has climbed Mount Everest, gone to the bottom of the ocean. He's fired rockets at the Moon, split the atom, achieved miracles in every field of human endeavor... except crime!" 20) "I'd buy that for a dollar!" Maksimov
Full Metal Jacket, Dr Strangelove, American Beauty, Leon, Quest for the Holy Grail, Donnie Darko, Ferris Bueller, Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid, Once Upon a Time in the West, Goldfinger, Robocop were all correct. Well, ok...some of the movie titles weren't spot on, but I'm not that picky today. They were close enough.

Elliott
?If I had an argument with a player, we would sit down for twenty minutes, talk about it and then decide I was right!? Brian Clough ?I gave my players a version of the same message at ten-to-three every Saturday: 'I would shoot my granny right now for three points this afternoon.' They knew how important it was to give everything in the cause of victory. Every time. That's why my granny enjoyed more lives than my cat.? He actually knows what he is talking about and manages to be entertaining. And his writings on his homepage are often well worth reading too. Maksimov
Ok, still two to go: 1) "The smaller the attendance the bigger the history. There were 12 people at the Last Supper. Half a dozen at Kitty Hawk. Archimedes was on his own in the bath."12) "I suddenly remembered my Charlemagne. Let my armies be the rocks and the trees and the birds in the sky..." The other one is said by an Englishman playing a real life English man. The other is a Scotsman playing a fictional Scottish-born American.
