Kante/Maka, Lampard and....?

Featured Replies

I've been thinking lately about our all time great teams and I just found out that our midfield throughout these great seasons (05/6; 06/7, 09/10; 16/17) almost all the time consisted three men. Jose's 4-3-3, then Carlo's 4-1-2-1-2 and Antonio's 3-4-3 and now 3-5-2. So the best Chelsea team of all time should start with one of these tactics. It's fair.

And here's the thing. We've got Lampard deeply in front, no question about this. He's our man behind the forwards, I believe no one questions that.

We've got a hard choice between Makelele and Kante, playing on same position, both crucial part of already proven winning teams, but it all comes down to these 2. I personally prefer N'golo, because he is sharper in offense, but choosing Claude makes totally sense as well.

And here is the most difficult choice we'are facing. Who should be their partner? Dennis Wise, Gus Poyet, Robbie Di Matteo, Michael Ballack, Cesc Fabregas?

In conclusion - we are talking about our best box-to-box midfielder. The guy between Kante/ Claude and Lampard. Someone with good skills, passes, finishing and dribbling but also with defense impact when it's needed. You can add some other names into this list if you want it to.

So..?
