Social Media Rant

Featured Replies

Social Media is cancerous (twitter and facebook most of all) !!! EVERYTIME, I look at stuff relating to football, whether it includes Chelsea or not, I only see : Hatred, bias, insults, abuse, bullsh*t, bulsh*t and bullsh*t !!! People fighting each other through keyboards, fans trying to diminish everything great players, CFC or not, have done cause they support a rival club; defamation at its best as we're portrayed as Daesh or Al Qaida when it comes to our reputation ... But the worst I have seen lately was that video on facebook on Moses, explaining how him, orphaned at 11 yrs of age ad a refugee, managed to make it in the PL while he did not speak any english when he arrived in England at 13 with no family ... A great inspiring story, and you have Motherfckuing Asslohes in the comments writing "HE GOT A GRANT!!! HE GOT A FCKING GRANT!!!! HE OWES UK, THE FCKUING CHAVSKY!!!" or "HE IS STILL sh*t ANYWAY HAHAHA" or again "HE IS CHAVSKY, FCUK HIM HE SHOULD HAVE NEVER MADE IT ANYWAY"... this is unbelievable !!! Moses have made better than those mofos could ever hope for in their miserable lives, and they shout bullcrap and take a shot at us EVEN in this case !!!! You know what, this might sound controversial, but if censorship could be widespread on social media, I'd actually welcome it ... the amount of BS I see every fckuing day made me think that even if it fckuing sucks, at least those mofos will be reduced to silence once and for all !!! They don't deserve free speech if it is to spew BS 24/7 !!

It's so bad, every news on football on social media has that kind of comments over and over again ... a good 40%/50% of the comments actually ! this forum is such a breeze of fresh air in the infested climate of social media, I hope it never disappears ... Because all the rest is fckuing cancerous !!! Unbelievable ...

Social Media ruined football for me!!! I watch less and less matches just to avoid all of this nonsense ... That's why I love this forum where for once we're not identified as fricking : racists/chavs/plastic/cancerous/terrorists (I saw this one once trust me ! )...

I've never used Facebook but I do have a Twitter account and only ever see comments like that if I actively go looking for them, or if somebody else complains about/retweets them.

I can see there is definitely an advantage to sticking to a proper moderated forum for discussions though.

It is quite shocking seeing some of the dross that people say about other human beings regarding a trivial event such as football. They take things so personally, and attack people they don't know incredibly personally. We all get frustrated watching our favorite teams but sometimes people need to just log off and go outside and do something else with their time. Football should be an escape from our everyday lives and it should bring us happiness. It's not just one the football sites and accounts it is on nearly every type of account out there.
