This is how Whoscored have assessed the Blades squad so far this season, and he's the best of a fairly bad bunch ...  :

 

That rating would have him around 10th in our squad

By the metric your using rudiger has been better than thiago silva, and Abraham has been better than giroud. Not sure many fans would agree with that. 

Rather take the opinions from fans that watch the players every week, and the vasy majority of Sheffield United opinions ive seen, has said he has been pretty underwhelming bar 1 or 2 games.

Yes that's true ... no substitute for your own eyes, but I'd take anything on Twitter with a pinch of salt.  What about the Sheffield United fan forums - have you looked on those ?  Wouldn't surprise me if he was overhyped and turns out to be another dud ...

Oh ... this made me smile ... in answer  to whether Ampadu's best position is as a defender or a midfielder .... "His best position is on the train back to London to rejoin Chelsea" ? Oh dear ...

Had a quick look on them but couldnt see anything more recent than early October. Its difficult to really gauge fan opinion at the moment with no fans the stadium. 

Im sure some of the criticism will be warranted, but he maybe being made the scapegoat aswell, since he isnt actually their player, so maybe an easy target. 

Ive only seen him twice this season, once against city, where he struggled in midfield, gave the ball away alot, and got subbed, and I watched about 69 minutrs of the palace game the other week,where he played right centre back, and was pretty poor, arguably couldve done better for the second goal. 

There definitely a player in there though, hopefully that motm against Newcastle will give him some confidence to take into the second half of the season.
