July 26, 20241 yr Best team probably 2004/05. First title win in modern era, overturning an 11 point deficit from the previous season to a 12 point advantage whilst bedding in what was basically a new team under a new manager. Only conceding 15 goals ,probably a record that will be unsurpassed. Favourite team to watch late nineties. Favourite team 1969/70 ...you always remember your first Honourable mention for John Neil's 1983/84 team

Favourite team 1969/70 ...you always remember your first Honourable mention for John Neil's 1983/84 team 83/84 is the first season I can properly remember bonding with, I just remember the incredible attacking football by a young squad, and I didn't care which league it was in.
July 26, 20241 yr Author Had a look at 2004-2005 season and found this a win knocking out Barcelona from the last 16 of the Champions league. Kezman gets an assist for the first and Terry gets the later winner. Shout out to Ronaldinho for some magic on the ball. Note both Deco and Belletti here paying for Barca would later switch to Chelsea.

I think 05/06 was a stronger side objectively but obviously we got better results in 04/05, really should have had a treble. The 05/06 team was a better squad overall, but underachieved, especially in the Champions League. We went out to Barcelona in the last 16, but we could have avoided them altogether if we played better in the group stage. 3 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss. I also thought the second half of the league season wasn't as strong as the first. Some games were starting to become a bit of a slog and there were signs that United were catching up with us.
