Mate it's stupid!

My Mrs and youngest kid collect these popmart figures. It was unknown till a member of k-pop band Blackpink posted one up on her Instagram or tiktok. They had to queue for over 4 hrs just to enter a shop that no one barely knew about a week earlier!

Now they recently opened another store in Oxford Street just to accommodate the new "collectors". 

All it took was 1 social media post!

K-pop and i think they are (or were) the biggest girl grp in the world.

I don't think its aimed at kids. Hahaha

Some of them have really explicit lyrics the rest is just raunchy dancing. There are a few pre watershed ones of course but they would drive you mad. Think baby shark!!!!

My Mrs and I are both into Koreans/japs (and red heads) so she's the one that tells me which are decent to listen/watch, that won't piss me off.

I’ve got quite a few young friends who make me feel old everyday but none of them ever mention K-pop.

I've just been informed by @Simplymo the target audience isn't kids. Which is amazing, since the videos (my immense sample is the 2 posted here) look just as nauseating as young girls would love them. But what do I know, certainly not raunchy Asian lyrics, I don't even get the baby shark reference

How have you not heard of baby shark!

How the hell did you manage to miss that! Every adult, regardless if they had kids or not was pulling their hair out!

 

Thinking about it, i'm sure there must be some aimed at teens! Honestly I'm not going to look. You're on your own on that. I can barely tolerate the few that are ok-ish if I hear them more than once. 

When I said I was into Japanese, Koreans and redheads that was more about the opposite sex (my Mrs knows this and allows me to stare). But she's the one that's into their music, not me. Lol

Yep. The power of social media is nuts.

Too many stupid ppl with a way to reach out to the masses! It's a recipe for disaster. Its a powerful tool but you can't control who does or doesn't post stuff up. And it's just too easy to act (post) before taking time thinking it over, then grp/herd mentality takes over...
