We had a few drinks in the pub at Abbey Mills after a christening years ago..

Btw are you saying your girlfriend at the time was called " whippet" ??

That’s right. Her real name was Whippet, and her nickname was Zoe…

Other girlfriends from that period included Puffin, and Tiger Feet from Tooting!

Doesn’t ring a bell. A few iconic fans from that way. Skitsy Carl, No Coat John

Tooting Chelsea. Garrett Lane. Was told it was London’s longest lane but it’s not. St Gregory’s Church where Mum and Dad got married, and all family christenings occurred. The brasses around Wardley Street. Disco nights at the Old Sargent. Vicars, Tarts, and Lonely Hearts

‘The Cat’ dives full length and saves a penalty from Alan Ball at The Bridge. 7th Sept 1968.

A 1-1 draw, with Peter Osgood equalising for us from the penalty spot in the 80th minute.

It was watched by 42.017 spectators.

wow ..That was my first ever game! My 9th Birthday . I have since then acquired a matchday programme will upload excerpts later.
