According to my good mate.....

There was a shooting in The White Hart last night!

To those not in the know, the 'Old' White Hart pub

(opposite the old entrance to Fulham Broadway) was very, very popular until it was taken over and turned into a trendy wine bar....

.....about three years ago.

'Chateau 6',as it is now known is still very popular on match days with Chelsea suppoters.

Last night just before 1am James Oyebola (the former British heavyweight boxing champion) was shot in the head in the courtyard

area at the rear of Chateau 6 on the Fulham Road.

Oyebola who won the WBC international heavyweight title in 93,had asked three men to stop smoking at the club.

It used to be a rough Chelsea supporters' pub called the White Hart but appeals to a more classier of clientele now icon_rolleyes.gif

I walked past that 2 weeks ago, looked well poncey you just wouldnt imagine anything like that happening in there

I've now been told that the Famous Jolly Mausters has also gone "Yuppiefied" With candles & tables

Is this true?

I know that the pubs around the broadway need only to cater for us for only about 6-8 hours once a fortnight but FFS is there anywhere that ain't sacread anymore icon_confused.gif

Here's a pic of it!!

F**k me!!!

What have they done with the jollys??

Oh my god!!

Eight Bells it is Katz!!

Christ, is nothing sacred? I remember the White Hart when that Irish bloke was the landlord. On a Saturday afternoon, he'd be at the door with his alsatian, keeping out undesirables. Not me of course, I was always allowed in! 139.gif And as for the Maltsters, I don't know what to say. Another fond illusion shattered, another memory down the plughole. Oh well. To put things back into perspective, I hope the bloke pulls through.

The f**k*ng Malt House. What a pile of sh*t!! The Maltster used to be one of my favourite pubs in Fulham.

The place wont be so 'yuppiefied' after i take a sh*t on one of their candle lit tables!

Maltsers has been one of my favs for a number of years now. The sort of pub where you wipe your shoes on the way out! And IMO there's not enough of them left around the Bridge.

Their special offer the season before last was a three course meal with a bottle of wine for................ ?9.00................................... In FULHAM !!!!! I didn't partake myself, but I'll bet it was choice. Especially the wine icon_wink.gif

There was a cracking row in there early on the night of one of the Barca games. One of the barmaids got involved throwing the knuckles. icon_eek.gif After the match she had obviously perked up a bit and was happily lifting the top and flashing the goods. Unfortunately, for us punters she looked like a cross between Vanessa Feltz and Mike Tyson. Only with more tattoos.

Still the Maltsers doesn't beat my all time fav.......... The Kings Head circa 1977 - 86. Breaks my heart to walk past it now and see all the away fans in there singing their heads off. They wouldn't have even dared look through the windows in yesteryear. The Aussies who run it now should be shot for what they have done to that boozer.

Watch where the candle goes when your squating, lest your expression looks something like this:

Is that now the Slug and Lettice??

By the way the Large barmaid you described in the Jolly's there is more than one!!

It aint a pretty sight!

Hope they haven't push the prices too far up....

....cos its a good pub especially when the sun is shining!!!

Dont go in the Fox and Phesant as the Landlord is an Arse

Any time i get to the Bridge i always head for So Bar . Ive even brought my family there before games , some people might say its not for familys , ok maybe its a bit hardcore but for me it brings me back to the 80's and my first taste of Chelsea supporters and the banter . The first time i brought my wife and 2 kids there was purely for athmosphere and to let them see how Chelsea fans love the club . My wife stood there aghast , got chatting to a lot of friendly people, my 2 kids had a laugh and never took the whole thing too serious . Im sure there are many great pubs where fans gather , i just havnt discovered them yet..

The point im trying to make is , i dont know too much about bars or pubs Chelsea fans use before games , im sure theres plenty , but if the pubs decides to go upmarket and stick their heads up their own arses then you can forget about pre match sing songs and expect those running a pub business to see profits fall and then watch them complain theres not enought wine being sold to weekend millionaires .

On the smoking ban issue in Britain , one dead and a season full of football fans filling pubs across the country could be a recipie for trouble . Hope im wrong .
