I have received a email from the club, saying about the funday on Monday 11th August, watching the team train at The Bridge. Has anyone been to previous fun days, and if so, was it enjoyable. I guess there would be a lot of photo opportunities avavilable, but what are my chances of getting a Chelsea shirt signed by some of the players. I am getting married on the 18th October, and it would be a ideal present for my bestman. I did write to the club, to see if I could get a csard signed by the team, but they said no, stating that he might sell it on EBay. I know my mate, if he had a signed Chelsea card/shirt, he would save that first if his house caught fire, and then save his wife..... :lol: Look forward to any responses.

If Frank is haggling over the length of contract, then it is stupid. I personally think a 4 year contract is very generous for a player who is 30. Also with the salary a week, it equates to 7 years salary for me before any deductions. The amount of money Frank must have earned, through salary and all the sponsorships, while he has been at chelsea, he really can't be on the bones of his a**e. No player is as great as the club. We have over the years many legends, they have left/retired, and Chelsea football club is still here.

If Frank is still saying he wants to finish his playing career at Chelsea, why haggle over £10K and a year on the contract. If the figures kicking around are £135,000 a week, surely thats enough to live on, crikey i wouldn't mind being paid £40,000 a year in my job, but that will never happen. I guess when you get paid a lot of money, you want more. Also do not forget all the sponsorship contracts that Frank has as well, so he is not exactly a pauper. Chelsea and Frank sort it out, so we all know where we are.

Maybe, but are we building a team for the next 2 years or for 4 years and more. Older players may help win trophies now, but we have seriously look further ahead, and looked at the next 5 years or more and be the dominate force in the EPL and Europe. To do this we need the younger players, then if the team stays together for 4-5years or longer, other teams will definitely not look forward to playing us. Also we have to bring through the very good youth players we have, as they are also the future od the club. What the club needs to do is buy sensibly, and not gett carried away by buying every big name there is, because that will not make a great team. These players have to be able to play as a team, and not as an individual.

Think we should be looking at players under 28, ideally 22-26, so with a 4 year contract, we should get the best out of them. Also we really should not consider players who like to go out partying all the time, if we are to 'do the quad' next season, we then need fully committed players, and not playboys.
