I'd say that ignoring morale and injuries the squad now has to be better than 3 years ago. Going through the positions they are all technically better players than when Jose came in. Go through the team now and then. Carvalho, Essien and Drogba being brought in by Jose must win this poll for Grant on their own!

I think if you compared the two squads on a player vs player basis then this squad is probably just better however if you look at the squad as a whole (which is by far the most important thing) I think Jose took over the better one. Both squads have flaws that needed/need working on hoever I think the one Ranieri left had more options and more craft.
