octville
As a Blues fan, we seem to be always surrounded by pro-Reds element. Numerically, there are far more Manyoo fans globally than Chelsea. That is not surprising considering that our heritage of success has really come about in the last decade or so. But the pro-Red connections sometimeslook very ominious and cynical. How do you often explain why some referees are more prone in overlooking decisions against Manyoo? (I amnot maligning the integrity of the Man in Black). Then there's the 3rd element of pro-Manu and pr0-Scouser often in the tabloid and the press. One man that I absolutely adhored reading is Rob Hughes, the regular columnist on Football on the Sunday Times where I live in Singapore. It is fairly obvious that the man is biased toward a Red shirt. Or how could you explain the Grant bashing in the British tabloid despite what he had tried to achieve under very untenable circumstances? To be fair, I was very anti-Grant because he is not the Gaffer of choice and was a stop-gap choice in my opinion. But through the last 1/3 of the race. when we practically remain unbeaten against Manyoo, Liverpool and Arsenal, I respect what he had done despite his poor credentials. While all the news were about hailing King Ronaldo and his Madrid ambition (sic!), it was always going to be JT's missed penalty. Drog's imminent departure and Lamp's supposed deal with Milan. It seems that all the elements - on & off the pitch- are pro-Manyoo. Surrounded by many Manyoo fans around me, I have declared footballing war on them, though life is still bigger than football. I have decided that Manyoo is my No.1 hated club of choice. I am graceful what we lose to Arsenal, Liverpool or anyone else but not Manyoo. Hence, I swore that i will never support any testimonial game where Manyoo is involved or even pay to watch them. Frankly, the gap between us and them is minimal. Manyoo has evolved into a poor shadow of the past, preferring to defend deep and break on counter wing plays. There will suffer when Rooney & Ronaldo ages. That is why they always needed young players like Nani & Anderson while a trusted servant like Giggs can only be offered a peripheral role. Manyoo has surrendered possessions ( if you look at statistics), typicalky playing a 3-3-1-2-1 system ( 3 defenders, 3 defensive midfielders, 1 holding playmaker (Tevez), with Ronaldo & Nani providing for Rooney. So it is easy to see why pro-Red element is desperate to show us to the Blues. I cannot wait for the new season to start. We have the quality, character, strength and resilience to win everything. Now that JM is not around, I hope that we have more great buying like Jose Bosingwa, and not seconds, hand-me-downs free transfer like Pizarro,Sidwell, Ben T'aim. TheWestwayWonder
octville, there is always a silver lining when Man United win a trophy: They inch closer to the mousers and replace a little more of their obnoxiousness (best team in history, five times!, most famous english team ever) with trepidation and nail biting. I will get slayed for saying this, but in Fergie and Ronaldo they have two of the best in the world at what they do. Add to that the fact that they spend, just like us, and I have to conclude there is no shame in getting beaten by the best. They have shown us class and respect in the past, unlike Rafa or those bar stewards in Islington, and its always us and them for the title every year. We know we can win and we will against them soon. In short, if there is one "big" english team I would have to pick to lose to, make it them. Better than the gooners, much better than liverpool or spuds

Lofty
best team in history, five times! There you have the ONLY reason to support Real Madrid - Do you hear Real fans crowing about it? En Espanol or otherwise? How's that for an idea, next time we play the obnoxious gits, a banner or so, or maybe tshirts with something like: Real Madrid NINE TIMES: you can stick your poxy five times up your arse! Well said...you have no idea how obnoxious that Manure fans can be. I had a friend who called me the most arrogant fan for supporting Chelsea and they accuse us of spending to success. As if the pot is not calling the kettle black! Is Anderson, Nani, Rooney or Ronaldo from their academy? The last I heard was vintage Beckham, retiring Giggs and forgotten Scholes. I hate Manure and no opinion is going to change that !

I hate Manure and no opinion is going to change that ! I hate them too. I consider their fans much worse than Scouse fans, but I am in the States, so maybe that has something to do with it. And to hear SAF whine and whine whenever something goes even moderately bad for his club (heaven forbid, a penalty decision goes against them, which happens only 1% of the time), it makes me want to puke! Lofty
Maybe it is because you're in the States, but there is no way that Mancs are worse than Scousers. In fact, like it or not, our recent success gives us more in common with Man U fans than Scousers who proclaim loudy and endlessly that they are the greatest club in England, despite not having won the Premiership/First Division as was for 18 years, which is of course the source of so much of their bitterness. As for Ferguson. Like him or loathe him, he gets results. Benitez, on the other hand is just one more reason to despise Scousers, so many of whom mysteriously seem to worship this obnoxious fat git, claiming for him such qualities as "class", dignity", and "humility", notable largely by their complete and utter absence. I think you also may have missed the point about the "five times".
Phillip
Perhaps so. All I see over here are plastic fans anyway, but the ManU ones are the worst, as they cannot even name anyone on their team outside of Rooney and Ronaldo, and that just makes me fume. The Scousers have won the CL five times, so I guess they can be proud of that achievement -- why not stick it in the face of ManUre supporters? I kind of like it when they do it, especially when coke-head Fowler did his '5 fingers' at Old Trafford.
Lofty
There are plenty of plastic Scousers all over the UK. Most of them bitter and twisted by the fact of not having won the title for 18 years. The 5 years thing, Octville completely missed, appearing to think this was a Man U thing. Take my word for it, Scousers in general are far more obnoxious than Mancs. Take the JT "Mongo" thing for starters. The hatred shown by that lot to all things Chelsea related is astounding. You may think you've seen some heavily anti-Scouse stuff on this forum, but believe me, this is nothing compared to the stuff they throw at us.
