Can anybody help me with this:

My laptop doesnt connect to internet (wireless) due to something seriously wrong with it inside yes.

So when I use to need to use the internet on it i'd connect the yellow cable from the router into the laptop and there the internet would work but just now i've tried to connect the wire and get the internet but nothings happening.

Help? :(

I was having trouble with something similar before. I have a wireless router, hereas before I just plugged it straight into the modem. The wireless was acting up for a while, so I tried to set it straight into the modem again (via the yellow cable). It told me that the computer was no longer set up to connect to the internet in such a way (something to do with the IP address?). Really, I don't know if that is a help, but thought a little light shed on a similar situation may help those in the know!

The laptop comes up with the wee computer at the bottom right with the red X over it showing theres no connection, and it doesnt change at all when the wires plugged into the laptop.

Did you get your wireless working again?

yeah I did mate, I just switched everything off for a while, and then fired it back up. On the wee computer icon down in the bottom right, just right click on that, then click on "connect to" and it will pull up all wireless routers within range. Your one should pop up amongst them?

I doubt that is the real problem though. Someone more technologically minded might be able to help you

Can you see it listed anywhere on your pc, as in, although you cannot connect to it, is your laptop showing anything (within network, etc) that lists the router?

The laptop use to connect fine to the internet wireless, but something damaged and nackerd the whole wireless connection the laptop had. The only thing I need to do atm is get it firing the internet on when i've got the cable connected to the laptop but its not working like that either ::clap2::

Can you tell me what wireless card you are using?

From what you tell us, the actual wireless hardware is stuffed- in which case there is nothing you can do but buy a new a wireless card. You can get cheap USB wireless networking cards as well.

Oh wait, you have a different problem- oops.

Restart your router. Sometimes the IP address just needs renewing.

stock answer of reset the router. is your network card ok in the device manager? try uninstalling the network card an re-installing it. try creating a new profile from scratch and see if that works.
