The Daily Mirror are this morning that we are on the verge of selling Ivanovic to Juventus. Personally I'd have preferred Ben Haim to the one to make way but this could be the real reason why Alcides has been recalled?

ummmm...correct me if im wrong but didn't we make a profit on Tiago, Kezman, Sidwell and perhaps Jarosik and Smertin?. Aren't we likely to now go on and make a profit with Pizarro and Ben Haim?

I could see a scenario in which is would make sense. Ivanovic was bought under Jose, and when Big Felipe came in with Bosingwa he was seen as surplus. I remember when he came people described him more as a RB than a CB.

however, if he is as versatie a player as he seems to be, then it seems strange to let him go? Also, if we are still meant to be bringing back Alcides, then it puzzles me even more.

However, one thing that could be taken from this story, and this is merely me looking for the positive, is that this could mean Riccy is staying. If Riccy stays, then we have Alex as back up. If Riccy was going, we would play Terry and Alex, with Ivanovic as back up

techically we didnt actually make a profit on Tiago, he was part of the Essien deal though the swap wasnt simultaneous. but i think Kezman was the first profit making sale since Roman. Also, were making a tidy sum on Sidwell if he goes.
