Jimboola69
<from the Sun, 11 June 2008) CHELSEA youngster Jack Cork has been handed the England Under-19s captaincy. First-choice skipper Ciaran Clark, who plays for Aston Villa, has been ruled out of the upcoming UEFA U-19 Championships in the Czech Republic. So 19-year-old Cork, who spent last season on loan at Sc**thorpe, has taken over the role. England U-19 coach Brian Eastick has tipped the right-back to shine. He said: "He's already got a lot of experience. "I know Sc**thorpe didn't do too well in the Championship last season but his performances were very, very good. "His time there would have benefited him greatly. "We have seen him mature as a player and a man over the last few years and he has earned his chance." ------------------- It all looks to be going well for jack. He was voted Scunnies player of the year last season if memory serves. Come on the Corky!!!! B)

Gem
Fantastic news for for Cork, always liked the look of him. We're blessed with finances, but going on Scolari's comments about giving youth a chance, he could be one we see a bit of, perhaps in the CC. g3.7
could be an excellent move- play in a successful side, possible exposure to european football.. as long as he gets games it would be better than a lower league loan IMO.

TomP
Good news for Jack. With youth prospects coming through, we really need to push through getting rid of the likes of Ben Haim as quickly as possible. Ideally, we should have one youth player in each position as part of the first team squad. If we play with two centre backs, then obviously JT and Carvalho are first choice, Alex is as good a backup as you are going to get, and the 4th choice should be a youth player. From all accounts, Maccienne is a lot more developed at this stage than Cork, so it should go to him. Then if he doesn't work out, get Cork in for next season. Jimboola69
Don't see the point in Cork going to Celtic. He will not play much. A lesser Prem team like Inverness maybe is a better bet.
