MHedges Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Hey all! Not sure if any of you know - but my job revolves around American politics. After this election finishes, I am going to have a couple months of free time to relax, and I think I deserve to go see a Chelsea game for my first time. It will also be a great chance for me to spend time with one of my best friends who recently moved to London. The most desirable date for me would be the West Ham game on Dec. 14. I guess I have a two-part question. 1) Are there any ShedEnders that would be willing to purchase ONE ticket for me (I would send you money beforehand of course) 2) If not, what is the best avenue for me to purchase a ticket? Would it be to become a "member" and wait until they go on sale and hope for the best? And what are the chances of getting one? (My whole trip is revolved around one game) Thanks all! -Matt
loz Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 If a club member who is applying for a ticket for this game (and doesn't mind meeting up with hedges to give him the ticket) wants to get in contact with me I can provide details of a membership that they can add as a friend so they can apply for two tickets. Please note I will only do this with someone I know as the membership is my father's and I won't jeopardise that by giving it to anyone. Also note that the person applying would neeed to pay for both tickets and sort out the cash with Hedges as it is the person applying that pays for them.

Plans changed for me - I can go to EITHER the Newcastle game on Nov. 22 or the Arsenal game on Nov. 30 (although I'm sure Arsenal would be hard to pull off) Loz, thanks a million! How early do tickets normally go on sale (for planning purposes) Edited October 17, 2008 by MHedges
loz Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Newcastle go on sale on OCtober 27th - Arsenal you will be very lucky!!
Alan Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Hey all!Not sure if any of you know - but my job revolves around American politics. I think you'll have more than a couple of months free time if the polls stay as they are :P
MHedges Posted October 18, 2008 Author Posted October 18, 2008 (edited) I think you'll have more than a couple of months free time if the polls stay as they are :P You've got that right Alan. And just so anyone knows who might be able to help buy me a ticket for the Newcastle game on the 22nd - I will be able to pay you immediately via paypal or money order (or whatever you want) - and I will be the most gracious guest to Stamford Bridge (I've been trying to save money to go for quite some time) - a la FREE BEERS! :P Edited October 18, 2008 by MHedges
MHedges Posted October 19, 2008 Author Posted October 19, 2008 (edited) Does anyone have experience using the Viagogo Chelsea Ticket Exchange? Seems like they make a lot of tickets available for each game, especially if I am only buying one. They still have Sunderland tickets available 10 days away, and I would be buying mine nearly 4 weeks before the game. EDIT: Nevermind, I guess I have to be a trueblue member to get the tickets. How about craigslist for buying a ticket, anyone ever try that? Edited October 19, 2008 by MHedges
loz Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Come on folks - there is surely a member going to the barcodes game who can help MHedges out. I have all the info needed to set my membership up as a friend on your account. All you need to do is login, set me up and then you can apply for your own ticket and Hedges at the same time. The lad is making the trip all the way over the pond, be a shame if he couldn't get to the game.
MHedges Posted October 19, 2008 Author Posted October 19, 2008 I have someone on craigslist who said he can get me a ticket in the Matthew Harding stand for 65 pounds. I think I heard somewhere that this is one of the more vocal sections. Is that price fair? -Matt
loz Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Well it is above face value but not massively above it. MH Upper should be £53 for non members and £50 for MH Lower. I know nothing about craigslist - is it reliable? If it is then i I were you I would probably take that - sorry we couldn't help you out with a face value ticket.
MHedges Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 Oh, and so there is some closure on the issue: I ended up getting a MHL ticket for Chelsea v. Arsenal. I'm quite excited.

mad_mac Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Are the tickets legit Matt? Just wondering about the authenticity of tickets found through craigslist (basically an online classifieds section you'd get in the papers. sells tons of stuff, has job postings, and an adult meeting forum!)
Mod Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Them and sites like gumtree are the worst for scammers, be careful http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&s...ams&spell=1
MHedges Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 (edited) Great news, well done on that mate. Whereabouts in the MHL will you be? Well, I am buying them for a markup price - and I'm meeting the lad outside the ground and we are going to go in together. I suppose I can compare his ticket and mine just to be sure before the transaction, or give him the money as soon as we are in the gates. Edited November 20, 2008 by MHedges
geezer Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Let me know if you need a minder, I believe Lofty is available for a reasonable fee.
