Torres presence alone wins matches. He's so class...doesn't need to do anything. Torres. Less is more. Legend.

Lukaku to Everton
If he is the future...why do we want another striker?

Efficient sums it up. Didn't need to score but did his part in the link up. Did we win? Yes. Did he cost us the match? No. Had Lukaku started and done the same would we be be so critical? No. Fickle we are. Savor the win. He started. He didn't cost us the match. Move on. ATM he's the best option we have.

Defense - not much threat to the back line, although cole had a couple bad spots. Midfield - if that was our B+ team, I can't wait to see the A team. Forward - Torres link up was very good. no shots but was an integral part of the flow for the buildup. a match that should've have been won...and was. 1st half showed the quality. 2nd half showed restraint with the midweek game coming up.- What's everyone's plans for Sunday? The return of Jose!
sunny all the time. Pristine ocean. Bikini clad women walking the beach and sidewalks. Pretty much what the post card shows. All european football done by 11am. Lots of day left to see the aforementioned above. $1200 RT 20 hr trip is worth it ya think?- High expectations?
this being a world cup year. all players will be looking to make their claim for their international team. competition will be fierce ithroughout the leagues. chelsea have a majority of the senior players on the international radar. competition within team will translate to the pitch. 1. chelsea 2. city 3. arsenal 4. manu- What's everyone's plans for Sunday? well here in hawaii, waking up at 3:30am. cooking some eggs and bacon. have a mai tai. watch some chelsea football. embrace the return. watch torres score a goal. hazard slaloming through the hull defense. mata dropping the pinch perfect pass. david luiz doing something bonkers. mikel moving like molassess. ramires lunge busting up and down the pitch. celebrate the victory. then go back to sleep at 6:00am. gotta love time difference.- Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
in his preseason matches, he was playing what looked like a false 9ish. dropping back receiving the ball then either going to the wing and letting a winger or midfielder slot in the middle. i honestly think those are the instructions he's being given. the midfield are the ones who are crashing the box. torres is just being used as a link up. he does need to be more selfish. i'd rather see him take 5-7 shots at goal then just linking up with the midfield. shots = effort towards scoring. link up becomes misinterpreted and fans jump to conclusions. he's being used all wrong if that's the case. the midfield creativity is more than enough to push the ball forward. he needs to ride the CB's and break when the opportunity arises. be selfish. he does that....torres will be top scoring striker on the team. mark it down.- Goodbye Ghost Goals!
Keeping the game pure.... As long as gambling, politics, corruption, and match fixing are present, football will never be "pure". Some things can't be left to technology like fouls and bookings. But...When a clear black and white rule " where the ball goes past the goal line" equates to a goal, and a ref misses it? Who is to blame? The ref. and he gets the brunt of the criticism. Because fans need to blame someone instead of their team. GLT will keep scoring and that aspect of the game pure, you're rewarding the team that scored as well as making no excuses for the team that let it be scored. Takes out all human variables which regardless of how credible and upstanding a ref may be, will always be influenced in some way or the other.- Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
World Cup cycle. Torres wants to be a part of The spain squad. Gonna work his socks off. Score loads of goals. I will predict it now.... 20 goals in the the league. Golden boot. Everyone back on his nuts.- Torres - The "Groundhog Day" Thread
Torres will have his best season in Chelsea shirt this season....yet it will still not be enough to satisfy anyone. He really looks good as a sub on but at 60 min in, other players are fatigued. Lets see how he does when the players are fresh. - Chelsea v Hull City (PL) 18/08/13 KO 16:00 BST
