  1. They weren't embarrassed by a League 1 side though.
  2. Fair play to the United fans at the stadium... Not many fans do that.
  3. Breaking news: Di Maria hands in transfer request.
  4. Well, nothing has changed it seems. Brilliant. Why not spend the same amount on Di Maria on a centre back and centre midfielder so desperately needed. Don't understand it!
  5. Yeah the relative success is obviously incomparable haha!
  6. To make sure people go to their local Football League game rather than watching the big Premiership match on the TV. It's to promote lower league attendances, not Premiership, I believe.
  7. 3 O'clock kick-off games aren't allowed to be televised in the UK to promote attendances.
  8. Bit unfair as Wenger has had 2 more transfer windows. If you stop the list in 2013 when Ferguson retired then you'd have to take away the expensive signings of Ozil, Sanchez, Chambers and Debuchy for around £100m.
  9. Getting more excited about this rumour than I did about any Destro swap or Atletico return... Probably shouldn't though.
  10. He has already earned far more than a normal person could spend in numerous lifetimes. When he retires he will continue to earn a large wage as a pundit, coach, anything he wants. I don't understand people defending him not taking a pay cut to play elsewhere. He'd still be earning many thousands of pounds a week and there would be nothing he couldn't buy. If he just loves playing for Chelsea, fine, but I can't understand someone not doing a job they would prefer (playing regularly for another side) just because the pay is a few tens of thousand less a week. As for him not caring, I think he does care, and try. He's just a pretty bad footballer now.
  11. Probably have to go back in time too.
  12. In fairness, I think it is. UtdBen_ said it without malice, Big Pete gave a jokey reply and UtdBen_ took it well without getting angry or resorting to abuse. I'd say it pretty much is just banter.
  13. If Liverpool are going to lose, then I hope they get tw***ed. I was impressed with Moreno up until his mistake.
  14. No matter how much I enjoy Liverpool losing, it's a probably bad thing for Chelsea.
  15. City fans singing "have you ever seen Gerrard win the league" and the Demba Ba song. Still not sure who I want to win this one. Draw please.
  16. I switched on around 2 minutes into the match, and with it now being around 7 minutes old, the Sky commentator has already described Liverpool as a "wonderful historic club" and he went out of his way to describe Steven Gerrard as a "great player". Sigh.
  17. Oh Pete... I am so so glad you got Twitter.
  18. A true Chelsea fan, a fantastic actor turned director and a great man to boot. If anyone has read Brighton Rock and seen Lord Attenborough's portrayal of Pinkie you will know how talented he was. R.I.P Richard.

  20. Crap, right at the bottom of page 1. Not a good day. 2 to play tomorrow.
  21. Doesn't really matter if it's getting boring if it's raising so much money for a good cause.
  22. My hastily scraped together team is (relatively) smashing it. Mid-table page 1 in the Shed End XI and top of my Public Classic League. 3 players to play.
