  1. When you sold him for £50m, that was the greatest sale of a player in history. Buying him back now for £34m isn't that bad considering how the market has gone. It is probably the equivalent of about £20m back when you sold him. I
  2. It's £120 million French Cleverley, get it right!
  3. I rate Rashford very very highly and think he'll go on to do well. He's learning a lot from Ibra and will play in at least 20 games this season, probably more. Ronaldo's all round play even at that age was insanely good. He was frustrating at times, but he was very effective at beating players and his crossing was good. That really suited the Fergie 442. Now, we have a different manager, with very different pressures and who plays a different system. FWIW, I don't think Rashford will reach Ronaldo's heights, though I don't think anyone of his age group or just above or below will either.
  4. That's completely different though. Being the number 9 brings the responsibility of goals whereas a winger can be a bit more hit and miss. So there's a lot less pressure to perform. Also, that was Ronaldo. Big difference. Rashford is talented, but he hasn't shown the talent that either Rooney or Ronaldo showed at that age. Though, to be fair, they were the best teenagers in the world at that time.
  5. Why on earth would United sell our best young prospect, who we have developed through our academy, to a rival? Especially when we, clearly, do not need the money. The only example of us doing this was with Welbeck who was much older and didn't look to be of a sufficient standard to be starting for us. Of course Rashford wasn't going to be playing every game this season as to rely on an 18 year old is an incredibly silly idea. He is a great talent and has a very big career ahead of him at United with only two 30+ year old strikers ahead of him. In today's prices, regardless of the fact that United are pretty secure financially, Rashford would demand a £50m fee. No one would pay that for him and United would not accept anything less.
  6. https://twitter.com/Darmianology/status/766745900211380225 It's not conclusive, but it looks like a pen from this angle. Was a good game overall and we look a hell of a lot better than last season. Though it was to be expected considering we brought in Pogba, Zlatan, Mkhi and Bailly. Bailly has looked imperious since he arrived and Pogba was great considering this was his first game. Zlatan, although not brilliant apart from his goals, did score twice which shouldn't be sniffed at. Once we bring Mkhitaryan in to the team we should be looking a hell of a lot more fluid. Hopefully he replaces Wayne. Mata has been playing really well and I'm super happy for him considering everyone assumed he'd be the first casualty as Mourinho came in.

  8. Serious question - 70m for Lukaku or 100m for Pogba? Both a similar age, both have insane amounts of talent, both potentially bought back by their old clubs. (I think they're also really good friends too) The big difference was that you were able to sell Lukaku to Everton for a big fee, Pogba basically went for a free from us.
  9. Can't say I'm not glad that transfer didn't happen though ;)
  10. For what it is worth, the Pogba fee is a smaller percentage of our revenue than each of the fees we paid for Veron and Ferdinand. Still it is a crazy amount of money that might be spent better but at the stage we are at we unfortunately have to pay these fees to get this calibre of player. Excited nonetheless.
  11. Disrespect doesn't come into it. That was a team full of players that have spent most of the season playing u21 football. The MoTM doesn't even have a wikipedia page! We had 13 first team injuries and Arsenal still managed to mess it up...
  12. Brilliant scenes at OT! There is no reason other than pure incompetence that that Arsenal team should be losing to what was, effectively, our U21 team. I still think Van Gaal needs to go as it seems pretty much sure that we will miss out on the top four but you have to give the man credit for playing Rashford, Varela, Lingard and Borthwick Jackson who have all looked very good this season along with Martial who has obviously been sensational.
  13. I wouldn't say United fans are backtracking. There is still a lot of apprehension about appointing him considering his tendencies to cause controversy and to limit the opportunities of young players. It is nowhere near as black and white as you're making it. However, no one thinks that United is above Mourinho - he is one of the top two managers in the world. I'm pretty sure most United fans would agree with that. I, personally, would take him in a heart beat and he would have been my choice as successor to Fergie. He will always be a Chelsea icon for me though, regardless of whether he managed another team. Similarly, Pep will always be Barcelona to me, regardless of his stints at Bayern and City. Considering how he left Chelsea this season, you can understand that some United fans wouldn't be 100% on Mourinho.
  14. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35508280 Looks like this might actually happen. Not sure how I would feel about Mourinho being the United manager as I've always associated him with Chelsea. He is, however, no doubt a world class manager who would allow us to compete properly with Pep and City. If it does become United vs City, Mou vs Pep, the media would be ecstatic.
  15. He's only 28 and is going to play in the Chinese league... That is such a waste considering he could definitely still play for a top half premier league, La Liga, Bundesliga or Serie A team.
  16. It's definitely a historic thing, but if we keep playing as we are, then there is no doubt we will begin to be overlooked for televised games. It would be interesting to see our average MOTD place now compared with when Fergie was in charge. We were usually in the top 3, regardless of who we played. Now we tend to be in the bottom three if we aren't playing another big team.
  17. Bluemoon is by far the worst football forum I have ever seen. It's worse than RAWK.
  18. Pretty sure he'll be going to City.
  19. You guys look up for it today. Look a different side from the one that played against us. All it takes is for Fabregas and Costa to start performing and you will be moving up the table quickly.
  20. I actually think Spurs winning the league would be a good thing. Mostly because it would mean city and Arsenal wouldn't win it.
  21. There have been a few improvements over Moyes. For one we are a lot better against other big teams under Van Gaal than under Moyes (Arsenal this year aside). The players are looking a bit more technical. The problem is that we either defend or attack, we struggle to do both. The best bits of the LVG reign have been Smalling's rise and Martial purchase. We haven't really progressed much other than that, no.
  22. We are so boring to watch nowadays
  23. This is a very good team and I'd probably do the same, except change Terry for Ferdinand and Xavi for Scholes for obvious bias reasons
  24. Not sure how to embed tweets here but the guy who revealed Martial to United is saying we are now going after Stones. He is supposedly reliable too. https://twitter.com/mohamedbouhafsi/status/683045490037010433 I'm not too sure about Stones as he will cost a fortune if we are actually even able to convince Everton to sell. He is still a little raw and, whilst terrific on the ball, is not the best defender. He would be a good partner to Smalling, however, and a back line of Shaw - Stones - Smalling - Darmian could be very good in the future.
