Since we're having such a miserable time of it lately, I cannot even describe how much watching that cheered me up! Cech and Drogba were absolutely IMMENSE. To go the right way 6 penalties in a row is incredible, even the ones he let in were so so close to being saved.

Agreed with all of the above, on the counter attack I genuinely believe there is no better player in the league - it's a nice bonus that even in the 89th minute he can seemingly run just as much (and as quick!) as he could in the 1st Honestly I always just thought he was a bit of a naturally lucky player; someone who can run at a player and (much unlike Torres) it'd bounce about 5 times before landing perfectly in front of him for him to continue to his run - there was one moment very early on where this happened and I thought he'd got it back, but sadly after that he was very poor. I still think he's going to be a massive player for us, but not in games last night, and that's another reason I was surprised he remained on for so long, especially when bringing on JT and moving Luiz into midfield seemed like such a no-brainer.

bleed_blue actually raises some good points unfortunately about our players, but I disagree about Rafa - it wasn't only the substitutions he messed up, and anyway, the substitutions (or lack of) were a huge part of why we didn't win last night. 2-0 up with Ramires playing poorly, and Oscar mostly being anonymous, why not take off one of those players and bring on JT, and push Luiz further forward? Then when we're level and desperate to score a winner, why bring off Lampard? Sadly I do agree with you about Lampard last night, there were definitely times where he was thinking more about the goal scoring record than the team (not that I blame him) - though to his credit he then almost went too far the other way, at times passing when maybe a shot was a better option. Either way, at 2-2 there were plenty of better options than bringing him off.

He's definitely faded recently, but then so did Hazard for a short spell... I've no doubt he'll be better than ever before long I do think it was a huge mistake to leave him out of the final in Japan though, you could see what it meant to Luiz, so for Oscar to be left on the bench was IMO a very poor decision, but then do we expect any better from Benitez?

Only on one real noticeable occasion (that unfortunately led to a goal) - still, not easily done as Azpi is normally very solid, and actually very quick himself

Sign him up. (seriously though, he's incredibly talented and so so quick! He's been likened to as a young Gareth Bale which IMO isn't a bad thing, and to be playing so well in the Premier League at 17 is damn impressive)

Shaw is absolute lightning and has so much quality for a 17 year old, and a big chelsea fan - if we don't sign him at some point I'm going to be so disappointed. After the first half how on earth are we not clear and out of sight? Argh
